Is it more difficult to drive and how does it work?

i have a 2000 mustang v6 3.8 im on vacation like 600 miles from my house recentley in the morning when i start it up the oil guage doesnt work and there is a kind of loud ticking knocking its in the place were you add oil to the engine is were i can here the noise after the car warms up the oil guage goes back to normal and the noise stops it drives fine well at least as it did i cant tell the diffrence the check engine light was allready on for a bad egr tube what do you think it could be and can i make a 600 mile trip home

I took my car in to get the tires rotated, balanced and aligned today and got a call that apparently the guy noticed a squeaking when he pulled the car in and they checked and my front callipers are leaking brake fluid. Apparently I need new callipers, new brake pads and a brake fluid flush and it is going to be over $700.

I have not noticed any difference in my brake performance, any noise from them, or any leaking fluids but this guy told me that brake fluid does leak because of the high tempature it just gums up. I looked around on the internet and it sounds like it would be leaking and I would be able to see it.

I need opinions as to whether it should be leaking and this guy is just trying to make money off of me or if this sounds legitimate and I could really have a problem but have noticed nothing. Thanks!

I'm looking to put a locking chrome gas cap on my 68 F100. I've seen one on ebay that claims to be vented but everywhere else I look they specifically say 'unvented'

When I fill up my truck and its a hot day, gas squirts out. Is that becasue my current cap is vented or unvented?

I have a '94 Saturn LS and the speedometer and odometer aren't working.

I'm trying to fix this on my own without having to go to a mechanic. I have looked at the fuses and they all look good with no apparent breaks in contact. So I am not sure where to look next.

Does anyone have an idea for me to try?

I took my '06 chevy for a brake problem. After my car sits for several hours, then you start the car and put it in drive, the brakes won't work! Feels like you turned the engine off and trying to stop! Also, the whole car shakes when applying the brakes at highway speeds. I take it in to the chevy dealership and they take my car for two days and then call me up and tell me it's done. I go to pick it up and I see the service report saying they didn't do NOTHING. "Everything normal at this time" is what they wrote! I"M MAD NOW! I went to another chevy dealer and they found some kind of a brake booster vaccuum leak or something like that and the rear drums needed to be re-surfaced. My problem was solved now but I want to get the other dealership back for not fixing the car like they were supposed to! Their service manager never called me back to discuss! I hate chevy dealers...bunch of fat azzes sitting on their chairs doing absolutely nothing but keeping their chair warm And Who is fixing the cars? Some school yard boy or a fat azz santa clause who looks at the car for two days then rights “normal”

My car has been overheating for months. I have used the proper mixture of antifreeze and water. I have had to tighten the clamps on the upper hose because it swells so big some times, one time it completely came off. The other day the car wouldn't start. I took it to a mechanic and got it back yesterday. He said there was something wrong with some wiring, and the reason it had been overheating was because of a bad radiator cap, and he replaced it. I drove the car this morning and it was overheating so badly it took me two hours to get it back to the house. And it looked like smoke was coming from the engine, around the spark plugs. But I don't know if the smoke was from water being sprayed on the engine or if it was actual smoke coming from inside the engine. The engine ran fine until the car started to overheat, then it sounded really rough and no matter how far I pushed down the gas, it wouldn't hardly move. Also, the front window got foggy, and I tried the air, it was hot. HELP!

I have 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 3.1L. My coolant light blinks on and off but my fluid levels are fine according to the resevoir. I took it to an Uncle Ed's and they said the level was fine also. It blinks at a slow pace, comes on for a second and is off for a couple of seconds. I was wondering if either a fuse was bad or the sensor was bad.

Mechanic.Honest, Reasonable in Watauga, Ashe area of NC but will travel. Our car was acting up so we took it by the auto parts store they put a tester on the car and said it was the emissions sensor. We had also got a letter in the mail about the emissons and to bring the auto in for the free warranty work. We took it to High Country
Honda in Boone. The work was done as warranty work because of pollution issue. Well, weeks later the amber lights came back on so back to auto parts we go and they said the sensor was not replaced.
When our car was being serviced the service rep said its time to replace the timing belts @620.00
I also told them about the radiator running hot both fans dont work. Also we need new brakes and
rotors. We will be borrowing thousands.We are disabled and have to borrow the money to get the repairs done so we want to make sure that we do not spend the money and still have a broken car. Thanks to all who can give us some direction in this matter.

Silly girly question probably, so please be patient lads!

Part of my car's exhaust had to be replaced recently and the mechanic said that the cat would also need to be replaced in the next 4-6 months. How will I know when the work needs to be done? Is it going to suddenly go bang or shoot out clouds of smoke from the exhaust pipe?

Also, my MOT is due in September - should I get the cat replaced before then?

maybe someone knows about these. Basically I ordered one, and the car is manual, but the automatic version was delivered (aggh!). Apart from that the mechanic said the "throttle meter" was missing and that it wasn't a complete unit. So he's right it forms part of the unit or is he trying to scam me like usual? thanks in advance.

need to know what the fuel pressure should be for the 1994 buick regal 3.1 liter. i'm getting 40 psi that drops to 35 engine starts then shuts off. were having to jump the starter due to a faulty vats system. fuel pump is kicking on. and even if i jump the relay for the fuel pump i still get start then stop. we recieved the car in this condition. checked all fuses. we can keep it running with starting fluid. so its not an ignition shut off.or does anyone know which jumpers to cross on the adl connector to get the blink codes? and a place where i can refrence them once i get them?
