The procedure for the Mégane II (2002-2006, pre-facelift model) is:
Scroll through the trip computer until you get to the "change oil soon message/miles to next service" displayed.
Press and hold the mileage trip reset button on the speedo untill the display flashes, and then stays fixed. This can take a few seconds.
The procedure may be the same on the Scénic.

The only way to get that light off, is to get it serviced, its what it's there for, to tell you that your car needs servicing. To ignore this light means that you could well end up paying more money later on, for something that would normally be carried out in a routine service. If your car was recently serviced, take it back to the garage and explain that the light has come on, perhaps there was something they left out, or there is a fault. Just don't ignore the light.

you can either pop into your local renault dealer and get them to run a diag on it which will reset the service indicator and give a list of any fault codes. Or you can get an independant garage to do it, (use yellow pages to find mobile mech, they usually alot cheaper) but either way I'd get it checked as the the lights on it means your due a service or its logged a fault.
hope thats a help

check with renault agent but the megane service light is in fact telling you there is a problem with the car, not that it needs a service.

Yes, Engine Management Light doing its job & telling you there's a problem. Afraid the only real answer is to get the codes read and dealt with - now.

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.
TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.
