will a 9006 bulb fit in a 9005 I have a 9005 bulb for a car will it fit in 9005 bulb fitting??

They are different wattages. Do not attempt to switch them. Even it it works, it would be a step down in lumens from 1700 to 1000 for the halogen bulb.

The only difference in most bulbs is the size of the glass part of the bulb and the number of filaments inside, one or two, occasionally three.
If the base of the bulb is identical then it will fit the socket. The two tiny protrusions sticking out the side of the metal base dictate whether or not the bulb will fit and lock into the socket.
