does batteries lose their power when they are just sitting there.??

not car batteries, but just normal flashlight batteries

so no matter how the battery sit there, like say if they are unopened, and came in a package, would they still drain out../????

Yes. Dry cell, (flashlight batteries), do have a 'self life`.
They slowly go bad over time.
It's a chemical reaction, and refrigeration helps, but not all that much.

Yes, they will eventually drain out. It's a very slow rate, but it will happen.

They will but it is a very slow process. The less humidity in the air will help preserve them.
