maybe someone knows about these. Basically I ordered one, and the car is manual, but the automatic version was delivered (aggh!). Apart from that the mechanic said the "throttle meter" was missing and that it wasn't a complete unit. So he's right it forms part of the unit or is he trying to scam me like usual? thanks in advance.

it's an old M reg metro 1.4 Si .. but it does use fuel injection. its errm 8 valve i think, the gti one is 16 valve. The mechanic was recommeded by a friend, as my usual one was away.. as you can tell i'm not exactly happy with my friend as a result.

it basically failed the MOT as it was idling too high, instead of it being at 800-900 rpm? it was over 1000.

Only a few cars spray fuel at one place into the intake. What year make model and engine size and miles? Yes throttle sensor needs to be connected to the throttle chamber where the injector normally hangs out.

Firstly have it checked by someone who has the equipment to check it So many times i have seen units changed from ecu ,s to pi units for a variety of reasons, and it fails. The reason for this is sometimes a failure occcurs in one component showing failure of the units,so when the units are changed its inbuilding the problem all over again You dont buy a washing machine until you try the fuse and so on.If your system is unfamiliar to the mechanic, anything is said even if wrong. Its often much more economical to see the right people first even if on paper it looks a little expensive Hope this is of some use not just for this one but others
So i sleep a lot Mechanic 38years stay lucky
