I got regular fuel at the Valero station and ever since my car has been running really rough. The engine light came on and my car has no pep whatsoever. It feels like my car is jerking and hardly wants to stay running. This has never happened before until I put this fuel into my car. Like I said I never had a problem until I put this gasoline into my car. I must mention my car has low miles and it is only a couple of years old. I will be taking my car into the dealership to get checked out and fixed. Do you think the fuel was bad?

My 05 Dodge Dakota died on my daughter. They could jump start it, but when she put it in gear, it would die. I had a shop tow it in, fearing the worst. My friend just had the computer go out on a dodge truck and it cost 1400.00.
They called me the next day and said it was fixed come pick it up. I asked what it was and was told they put a new battery in it.
They ran diagnostics on it [75.00] and thats what they came up with.
Between the tow, the diagnostics, and the new battery it was 250.00. I could have gotten a battery for 69.00 + core at wal-mart if I had known that was the problem. The dieing when put in gear was what made me call a shop. Older cars , after you started them, you could remove the battery and they would run.
Now all the engine components are controled by the computer.
Will a newer car not run without the battery?

I have a 89 honda accord, 2.0 with a carburetor. it runs perfectly fine now that I replaced the whole fuel system including rebuilt the carburetor. it runs ok when its coool but once it runs for a while it starts to loose power have very lil pick up, and when I'm in some gears it jumps as if it wants to take off or stop. I just replaced the plugs wires and caps and rotor last november and that carburetor should be in so good of shap its practically new. what do you think is wrong, I'm about to chunk it out the window but my parents won't let me.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 Litre. Recently sweeping out my Jeep I took out the rear, passenger floor mat and there was a brown/orange stain under the mat, and the mat itself also has a semi-permanent stain imprint on the back of the floor mat.

I suspect that the A/C piping has a leak or is congested and is leaking water underneath the carpeting.

Does anyone know if this could happen, and if so how do I fix it?

Any suggestions?

I already did a port and polish which doesn't make much of a difference. I tried not to over do it because I didn't want to ruin my engine. Is there anything else I can do to get a little more power out of it?

i think i ran out of gas, then put a lil gas from a can that had been in my trunk for 5 days in and wouldnt start up. after 2 hours i got more gas andputitin thenafterholdingthe pedal all the way down it started, but would not stay on at idle. drove home and gas/braked and coasted into the garage. its my only transportation and really need to get it fixed asap. been noticing that there has been alot of black smoke when i accelerate from a stop then it goes away until i nail it at about 30-40mph. been that way for a few weeks seems as if my fuel economy has been not so good lately but my fuel gauge doesnt work so i dont know for sure. there is a hard bend in the rubber line going to the mechanicl fuel pump which could have been straining the fuel but its been that way for a while. when it ran out of gas and i put old gas in, it seemed to be getting gas. i think i flooded it and it had plenty of time to drain. think i could have filed out the plugs trying to get it started?please help

Ok, long story kind of. I got a used car from a turd of a dealer. Within two weeks of the purchase of this vehicle , the engine had an oil leak, and not to long after, the engine locked up, and had to be replaced. Ok, so now, with the new engine in the car, it is starting to make the same kind of "grinding" noise when I push the gas, it made soon before it locked up with the old engine. And like before, sometimes when I hit the gas, the oil light flickers on then off.I KNOW for a fact that this is EXACTLY what happened just before the old engine locked up. I cant find any visible oil leaks, and the dipstick has NO oil reading at all. What is going on with my car? Where is my oil going? What is going on? Please advise before the engine locks up again. Like before, I have added a quart of oil. this JUST started happening today, so Ive only added one quart, to the engine that has roughly 1500 miles on it since the overhaul. Y is the same thing happening to a new engine?

My 2003 Dodge Neon had the check engine light on, and when I took it to Auto Zone it gave me the EVAC code, but when I took it to the mechanic, they could not find a vacuum leak or anything of that sort. When I start my car, it shakes, and when I accelerate, it seems to "jump" forward a bit. Twice now when I start and then go in reverse, it stalls out (even though it's an automatic) and I have to restart it. Also occasionally it has trouble going from a complete stop, bascially it struggles to get going. I'm taking it to another mechanic on Friday, but any ideas on what this could be and is it going to cost me a fortune to fix?

I poste about 2 hours ago about my 92' Jeep Cherokee Laredo and how it has oil in the coolant. After the 6 great answers I got, I've come to terms that it's probably a head gasket. Along with the head gasket, I'll need to flush out the oil out of the coolant too. I'm trying to find out how much is too much as opposed to how much cause I know its probably different everywhere. I would just sell it as is and get a dependable sedan, but it just can't happen. I need a few other things done (oil change, cv joints, etc.) but I want to get the important **** done. It's a straight 6 engine, so i believe it's only got 1 gasket.

Hello,

My Land Rover 110 has a problem with the brakes.

When I press the brake pedal, it goes down to the floor. If I pump the pedal one or two times, then the brakes function normally. After about 30 seconds, it is back to zero. It seems like pressure or a vacuum is somehow being lost.

There is no leak with the brake lines or calipers. I do not believe this is being caused by the master cylinder as this has been replaced recently.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be causing this?

Would this be caused by a problem with the vacuum booster, or the seal between the master cylinder and the booster?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
