Am putting motor in another vehicle. dont need antitheft system and some of the emission controls. Would prefer to do this myself. I would rather buy the software to do this rather than pay someone else to do it.

Our 2000 Huyndai Accent commuter car has been making clicking noises when breaking and my husband figured the brake pads need to be replaced. The shop told me the brakes are fine but the struts are leaking and need to be replaced. They estimated $900 labor and parts. I don't think the car is worth enough to put that much money into it. But what is the worst that could happen with leaking struts? Would it make the car undriveable in a couple weeks or create hazardous conditions for driving? Thanks.

Hello! I heard weird noise coming from the right rear everytime I hit the brake. I went to an auto repair shop to check out the problem. He told me that I'm using aftermarket brake pads. He wanted me to change the rear pads to original Nissan one for 120 dollars. He said that may solve the weird noise problem. So is 120 dollars for the rear Nissan pads reasonable? Any comments are welcome. Thank you.

Hello, I want to change my shocks to KYB GR-2 in my 1997 Maxima. The auto repair shop wanted to charge me 520 dollars. Is that a fair price? Any comments are welcome. Thank you.

The dealer has replaced several things and the check engine light continues to come on after it has been reset. I have noticed that it takes forever to fill my gas tank. The gas pump trips constantly. Does this problem seem in line with my issues?

My car is a CIVIC 95 and speedometer isn't working. The shop says speed sensor is fine, wires fine, should be the gauge cluster and tachometer. Why does that affect my speedometer?

Here's the story: My driveway is fairly long you see and it's in the middle of freakin winter, so i wait at my porch. when she gets around the corner I walk to the bus and it takes me like 10 seconds. She first asked me to wait one day, but i didn't. The next day she says if im not at the end of my driveway when she gets there she's just gonna go on by... and also, she's not even my REAL bus driver, she's just subbing in for her because her husband had surgery or something. Then I told my mom about it and she called the bus garage. Idk if they did anything but I get on the bus again and she has a printed out page out saying a state law about waiting at a bus stop... but is my driveway considered a freakin bus stop? i really need help on wat to do on this one

While driving my car I can hear a rattling squeaky noise coming from the front left wheel. Also when braking I can feel the car shake or vibrate a little. What could be wrong and how much do you think it will cost to fix?

can anyone give me a web site with instructions on how to replace the rear brake calipers on my car? I have the parts, but no one seems to know how to do this. If I can get a diagram or good discription, my neighbor can do it. I have a 1993 Dodge Intreptid and it is the one with disk brakes not the drums. thanks

There is a slot in the fuse box (under hood) of my car (88 corolla) that is labeled "efi main." However, nothing is in it. What is it and could the lack of this component cause my car to no longer start (turns over, but doesn't start)?

I have an Izusu Trooper that I bought a couple of months ago. When I went to get the oil changed the first time (at 2,900 miles) the people said there was little oil in it but the oil light was not on. Now I am about 150 miles away from a change and my oil light is randomly blinking off and on. There is no noticable leak, I've checked the pavement and parking space. The vehicle is used but in excellent condition. Any advice from those of you who own SUV's would be appreciated!

I need new brakes on my car. What are the right questions to ask and what do I look for in order to avoid getting ripped off? If they replace the pads/drums, should I ask to see them prior to removing them? If so what do I look for. Finally, are the big chains that do brake jobs reputable - places like Midas, Meineke, Sears, etc?
