Here's the story: My driveway is fairly long you see and it's in the middle of freakin winter, so i wait at my porch. when she gets around the corner I walk to the bus and it takes me like 10 seconds. She first asked me to wait one day, but i didn't. The next day she says if im not at the end of my driveway when she gets there she's just gonna go on by... and also, she's not even my REAL bus driver, she's just subbing in for her because her husband had surgery or something. Then I told my mom about it and she called the bus garage. Idk if they did anything but I get on the bus again and she has a printed out page out saying a state law about waiting at a bus stop... but is my driveway considered a freakin bus stop? i really need help on wat to do on this one

Sorry, but it sounds to me the end of the driveway is the bus stop. You have to be there when the bus arrives. She has other kids to pick up and she probably doesn't have the time to wait. Here are a few tips to try to stay warm... Dress appropriately, meaning winter coat, gloves, scarf, hat. Also, you don't have to wait outside long. Just go outside 2 or 3 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. So to answer your question, yes, the bus driver can drive past you if you aren't at the designated bus stop (even though that is very rude and I personally wouldn't).

The reason for this is, the bus drivers are on a schedule. They have other kids to pick up and get to school on time. If you are not at the end of your driveway, they can go on by you. The porch isn't the "bus stop". It may be cold, but everyone else has to stand out there, it won't kill ya. :)

When I was young we didn't have buses. The stage coach driver would see me at the end of my driveway and run me over. In doing this, I was dragged to my one room school house each day. I looked it as a good thing because when I got to school I was always alert and ready to learn. Seriously, don't get so upset, if this is the toughest thing you have to go through in your life you have a good "freakin" life. See it don't sound that nice when I write "freakin". It kind of throws off the flow of my writing and makes me sound like a 12 year old (no offense). Tell your Mom or Dad and let her deal with it. Parents have a lot more "juice" when speaking to school officials. They take them more serious.

I think that it depends on the school system. My daughters bus stops at the end of our driveway also. If we are not there, she will honk her horn, if she does not see any movement, she will go on. If she sees us coming, she will wait. I also have the problem with the cold here. I have to drag my 16month old daughter out in order to walk my 4year old to the bus. Keep calling the bus garage. If not, just be patient until the regular driver gets back.

Does the bus stop for you when you're at the end of your driveway? Obviously it does, so yes, your driveway is a freakin bus stop. I suggest you lose the attitude and do what you know is right, or plan on walking to school.

Keep this in mind.

The world isn't fair.
The world owes you absolutely nothing.

1. Put your coat on.
2. Dress warmly.
3. Be at the end of your driveway, waiting for the school bus, 2-3 minutes BEFORE the bus is scheduled to arrive.

Just wait at the bus stop and do not expect special treatment. Your driveway is the designated bus stop, and she expects to see you there waiting. The driver has her job to do, and you are not making it easy. What if everyone behaved as you are? She would never get her route finished on time.

If I were your mom, I'd be outraged! Have her call back the garage and tear that driver a new one! Get a petition going amongst the other teachers! There's nothing so urgent about a freaking school bus (or public school, for that matter) that the stupid power-tripping driver can't wait 10 seconds so you don't have to freeze your a55 off! I'd just do what you're doing, and if the bus driver won't wait, take the day off!

Go out and buy another backpack, take some clothes that don't fit you anymore and make a "scarecrow" with it's back to the road, she'll see the "scarecrow" and stop then you can run out to the bus and hop on while the enraged bus driver has a freaking aneurysm because she's so angry :-p

Depends on your bus service. If it's the type that picks you up at your door - then hell yes the driver should come down your driveway and pick you up.

If there are set "Bus Stops" - for instance an intersection close to your home.. they are are out of luck.

But - it sounds like your service is from your door.. to your school.
