When I turn the key, it "cranks" but doesn't turn on. The battery, alternator, and starter are fine, the spark plugs do not spark. What can be wrong?

Does anybody have any ideas on how to bring a shine back to my trucks paint job? I used buffing compound on it about a month ago and I don't know what else to do. I think it was ALOT shinier before I used the compound and buffer.

I drive a '95 Ford Mustang V6, and my car started overheating about a month ago. I took it to the dealership, and they told me there were some bad hoses, and the radiator had a leak. I had the hoses replaced at that time, and a couple of weeks later I had the radiator replaced. About $600 altogether. I drove my car the other day when it was about 30 degrees outside and it overheated again. I took it back to the dealership, and they told me there was a blown head gasket on it, and it would cost $1400 to replace. I told them that price was outrageous, and they went down to $1000. I told them I would think about it. A technician said I might give "Bar's Leak" a try. But he said it might clog my heater core. Will it really clog my heater core, or are they just trying to get me to get my car repaired with them? If anybody knows a lot about head gaskets and overheating could tell me what my options are I'd really appreciate it. I need help, and I can't afford to spend $1000. Thanks

My steering wheel used to be straight, the past few days the top of the wheel is now at a 2 o'clock position, if I drove with my wheel straight I would veer to the left quite shaprly. Other that "get it checked out" what could be the problem? is it dangerous to drive like it? What would make this happen?

I have got a renault megane coupe automatic but the gearbox has decided to stop working and i need some advice on what could be wrong. The problem with it is that none of the forward gears will work, the only gear which is working is reverse. the megane is a 1998 model and i know renault brought out a new gearbox in that year but i don't know which version the car has got but i have got in touch with a couple of automatic gearbox specialists and they are quoting me over a £1000 to repair it and i was wondering if it should cost that much. I just wanted to know if anyone has had this trouble before or anyone knew what this problem could be so that i don't get ripped off. The car is currently situated in Wiltshire as i can't drive it anywhere, i need to get it fixed locally if possible as i can't tow an automatic and don't know of anyone who could pick it up for me. Any help anyone could give me would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Had a diagnostic test done and he said I have a vacuum block and 2 hoses are leaking on my cars driver side fire wall & the hoses and vacuum junction box needs to be replaced. Tried to get 2nd opinion this morning, but the diagnostic test at AAMCO was inconclusive- the computer didnt get a "code" from my car. What next? I cant even find "vacuum junction box" on the internet! I at least wanna see a price for one so I'll know if I'm being overcharged. Please advise me.. I'm sooo lost

My car (X reg Laguna sport) failed it's MOT on emissions today and on investigation it is because my cat is not working - do i actually need a new catalytic convertor, or can my car run without one and still be within the legal limit for emissions somehow..? - i'm just paranoid that as a female the garage is stitching me up as my last car that had a cat problem (a fairly new mondeo) was really obvious that it had a problem - basically because it wouldn't run! I have been running around in this car without the slightest hint that there was anything wrong with the cat..
Any help appreciated!

I have a 1994 Nissan Maxima. There is a noise when I turn right, but never when I turn left. It kinda sounds like a clicking noise or like if I am running over an aluminum can almost. If I turn slow or wide, I won't hear it, but if I turn fast or narrow, I hear the noise. I replaced the rack unit because it had a leak, which got rid of the grinding noise, but not this noise. It has plenty of fluid, so it's not that either. A friend told me it could be the cv boots, but they are not sure. What do you guys think it could it be?

Hi, my engine light came on ( service engine soon) so I bought a diagnostic tester and it tested with no problems on the vehicle. My friend told me to remove the negative battery terminal/reconnect and that would turn off the light. This is just a regular maintenance light. It this true?

I had to have my Camaro towed home yesterday because it died. It would only idle, and die when it reached about 2kRPM. I found a vacuum line unhooked and reconnected it, which made it start (reluctantly) and it will now rev all the way up. If you stomp the gas, however, it will die. As you accelerate it will cut out and it has a great deal of lost power.

The disconnected vacuum line ran to the back of the motor, to the EGR valve I think. There was also a disconnected line that went from the exhaust-to-smog-pump line and into the brake booster. I reconnected that one also.

What could be the problem? The car ran perfect except for low oil pressure (from 0 to 8 pounds at idle) which we suspected as the sender because mechanical gauge showed normal pressure. The day it died the oil pressure was normal with 18 pounds at idle, 40 at 2k RPM, and it was also a bit harder to start (usually it starts right up, that day the engine had to turn over at least once before actually starting.)
