That sounds like a good price - It would have been $1500 four years ago!!!

Probably So! I had a 1997 Mazda 626 and a new transmission cost me 1800 bucks.

well my question is what is wrong with your old transmission. You may get out cheaper having your old one fixed. Give me the symtoms and i'll let you know what it will take to fix it.
You have to be very careful with alot repair shops, especially your dealerships. Some would rather replace a transmission than fix it because most tech's are not qaulified to do it.

That's pretty much in the ballpark. Consider $70-$75 per hour for the labor and the new or rebulit trans, and $1,600 sounds about right.

Installed? Yes it does....And it will probably be a rebuilt trans not a brand new one. Not to say that rebuilt is bad they're perfectly fine. Just make sure you get a good warranty with it. But the price is reasonable.

I paid $1100 to be refurbished, so I would say that's a great price for a new one!
