Go to Walmart in the automotive section where they sell the additives And look for a tube with the name water weld on it. It's a 2 part dry weld,Also get some sand paper to scuff up the area you are going to repair. You cut off the amount you need...Then kneed the two parts together until it becomes a uniform color. Then press the stuff over the hole and push on it real hard to make a good contact. You can use a finger wet with water to smooth it out if you want to.
Then just wait about an hour.
The water weld will be hard as steel in 1 hour and is impervious to all liquids and weather. Should be a good permanent repair

You should be able to buy some kind of cement from any auto parts store. Drain the oil and make sure you clean the area good before you apply the product . I know they sell stuff for gas tanks, so it should be in the same area. Good Luck.

I fixed a rusted spot in the gas tank of one of my bikes a few....years ago. Then the next spring while I was riding, there seamed to be a cold spot on my leg. Then my whole leg felt cold. Then I realized what was going on, the rust spot! As I was trying to slow down I also realized that the gas was going all over the exhaust pipes.. Blue fumes, NOT GOOD! Buy a new tank.

i would have a shop weld it. It shouldn't cost much and the repair will be permanent. i would not fool around because if something happens and you lose you oil the engine will be toast. Sometimes we can be too cheap for our own good.
