Thougth I'd try again on this one. Still have the rear "thumping" sound in the rear end. I spoke with my mechanic, who said that the shocks are solid as is the entire suspension system. HELP!

I had my LT1 engine rebuilt because it threw a rod and had it professionaly rebuilt by a large company that has been around for decades and everything was replaced wtith new parts where they could be. But now my car is slower off the line and overall.

Before I could smash the pedal and the tires (posi) would chirp going into 2nd and I could peel out and just had great acceleration off the line. Now it feels real sluggish.

I'd like to add this is a 96 Caprice and I have now put a good 5-6k miles on it over the last year since it was rebuilt.

It was great one day....leaked oil....but ran awesome....then it blew....was rebuilt and now it doesnt perform to how I feel the LT1 should.

The gears are 2:93 and its a tow package B4U and I have no exhaust upgrades and stock cats. Could a fresh engine and old exhaust cause such a HUGE difference? I can't even peel out with the brake pedal to the floor.

Unfortunately, it's looking like SUVs and sports cars and other vehicles with guzzle gas are going to stop being made and no one's gonna buy them anymore. I would much rather have an 8-cylinder like a Camaro Z28 or a Firebird TransAM. Everyone else might be switching to tiny, unsafe, wimpy Hybrid cars that can't take a hit in a collison and take all day to go from 0 to 60.
I wouldn't wanna be caught dead in one of those degrading, ugly vehicles that I find to be a joke. I would much have that 300+ HP from a Firebird or a Camaro. They look more cool, are much faster, and are a little safer in case of an accident.

I hope the decreased sales will mean lower prices, not the other way around.

Also, how long does a Porsche last, given that it has routine maintenance (every 15k miles, rebuild at high mileage), approximately? If there are a lot of factors, can you give a guess given that everything is average?

The only other Honda I ever owned was a lemon, and I'd really like to have another Buick, but with gas prices still being high, I am tempted to buy it, just to save money on gas. Any ideas?

There are a couple of dents and a deep scratch. I eventually want to get a body kit. Should I get a new bumper now or get the body kit done? What are the price differences??

How does an alarm system from Honda Odyssey EX work? The reason I ask is that the spec said that it came with an alarm but when I go to the dealer, they are telling me that the manufacturer installed system is only basic and is recommending that I upgrade to a KARR system.

Thanks!

This question and post applies to anyone who either owns or has driven a 2004 or newer Nissan Maxima with similar problems as I've reported:

Has anyone experienced a front end shimmy in a 2004 or newer Nissan Maxima? I have put my 2004 Nissan Maxima in the shop numerous times for the front end shimmy and its one thing after another, as far as excuses and repairs go. New Tires, Struts, Rims, Bearings, still there is a shimmy.

I am currently suing the dealership and Nissan Corp. for failure to repair, dealer fraud, deception, and am also pursuing a class action suit against Nissan due to several other reported cases of this exact problem. Have any owners gone through with a Lemon Law Suit or a Magnusson Moss Warranty Protection Act claim?

Has anyone dealt with such/similar issues?

I been having my '95 Nissian Pickup since 2001 and i had the problem when i bought it but it went away now its back. What would cause it to kill or die when i go from a stop to accelerate? It happens when i run it a little while then come to a stop and go to give it gas again. I thought it might be bad gas but i'm not sure. If anyone could help i'd appreciate it!!

My husband wants to take my van on a hunting trip and pull a trailer with a 4 wheeler and a bunch of other stuff. He would have to put a tow package on, but what about the internal components? Is it a wise decision? I don't think it's made for this kind of stuff. I really don't want him taking it.

If you can let me know what offset and tire/rim size you are running. The car is not lowered. I just don't want any rubbing. I'd like to have 17" rims.

Interested in looking at the 1950's chevy Bel Air line. I really do not like someone that beefs the car so that they burn a gallon of gas a minute from idling nor do I like cars that have the interior and exterior revamped. Everytime I think I found one with great body work, the seats are switched to something else or they are full of guages that were not originally there. Personally, I want my cars to look as original as possible.

With that said, should I purchase an old hearty car and restore it back to its originallity or should I just try to find the closest that I can that it already restored. WHICH IS CHEAPER?
Thanks

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I respect all peoples ideas for their revamped cars, good for them, just not for me.
