My best estimated guess is that it is called a maxima in Japan also... this forum shows that in mexico and germany it is called a Nissan Maxima... but nothing about japan.

Check nissanjapan.com two cars one USA platform based. Teana and the smaller Cefiro Are Maximas in Japan.

Most of these cars are now built herein the USA, I would think that the Japanese call them Maximas.

The closest thing would be a Cefiro but it's RWD, the Maxima is FWD.
