My question is about the cam belt do i need to change it ? is it the belt i see when i stand at the front of the car and look at the engine on the left hand side? I understand it is a belt and not a chain,do i need to change anything else besides the actual belt ? Someone said the pulley should be changed. Hope someone can give me some advice

If that 1500cc engine need a timing belt I expect it needs changing at 60,000 miles. The USA altima comes with a 2.4 KA motor that had chain driven camshafts. When the timing cover is removed it is time for anything under the cover that might fail water pump belt idler pulleys and the like. Send me a picture of the engine and under hood and side 3/4 view of the body of the car. to jp.hudson@sbcglobal.net

I've got a Ford Mondeo, Petrol, 2 litre engine. I get about 390 miles to a tank (about 11 gallons) if I'm on the motorway, but if I do loads of little journeys it drops to about 320.
