I'm 15 and I'm trying to save up for my first car. I want something small, cute, easy to drive, good on gas, and safe. What do you think I should get? How much does the average used car cost?

Hey! Everyone, Im looking to purchase my very first car pretty soon, within a couple of months(december). The car i've been thinking about getting is a 2000-2002 BMW (3 Series). I'm also going to take out a loan from my bank with a 5.99% APR rate for up to 36 are 72 months. The price of the car is about $14.000-$15.000. Do you think this is a good idea? And how much would you think my payments for the car would be?

I am getting ready to buy my first car, probably with in the next 3 or so months, I was just wondering some things I should know about cars before I buy it, and things I should check out about the car.

Considering buying a USED car and have narrowed it down to a choice of 2 (very different!)
a) Volkswagon Golf GTI MK3 16V (around 1996)
or
b) Suzuki softtop (around 1998/9)

Considerations - comments please!
motorway and town driving
For use for trips to the tip
Safety - as have 2 kids to carry
Want some fun too!
Value for money
Performance
Reliability
Running costs
Suggested alternatives - sensible ones only!
Thanks

I financed a car for 18k a yr ago and now owe 15k currently. The payments have gotten too high for me ($380/month) and I would like to get something different with a smaller payment. What are my options? I would prefer to stay away from private selling. Also the car is valued at 11k trade-in and 15k suggested retail. Help please!!!

OK, so I am a California resident. I'm in the market for a car and have been browsing the web for some used cars.

Now, I went to go see a vehicle today but was told that the advertised price did NOT include sales tax and license fees... I thought that this was a bait and switch, but is it? Do most prices on-line (such as cars.com and autotrader.com) do they list prices exluding sales and license?

This wasn't a dealership but it wasn't a private seller either it was this quasi-dealer (not an authorized dealer) just seemed like a few guys with a bunch of inventory of cars who managed to get a company name.

So what's the deal?

Thanks

i am the sole owner of a 2000 oldsmobile. on 7/12 i sold it and the buyer drove it home from my driveway. on 7/13 he calls and says the car wont start... now i had owned the car for 7yrs and not once did it ever fail to start... i asked the buyer what he knew he said he took it to his mechanic and was told it needs a new battery and alternator.. as an offer of good faith i told him i will give him $100 toward repair and to call me when he knows more. he calls on 7.14 and says even with the new battery and alternator the car still wont start, he wants me to have it fixed or refund him... now i dont think im responsible to service this car. for 7yrs i never had an engine problem. the 1st day he takes it, it dies on him... it doesnt sound right, it sounds like a scam; ... im not sure what to do, any suggestions?? thanks to all

I mean I have seen single people who buy SUV's just to use at costco. and it makes absolutely no sense why people love Hummers when gas prices have sky-rocketed and then complain about how much gas they have to buy. Are some people just a Bludgeon for Punishment?

My car is paid off. I do have some credit card debt that I'd like to pay off but my car is a little crazy. It's reliable and everything, but I'd like to have a new car. I found one that I like and I am supposed to sign the papers on Monday for it. I would only be paying about $50 extra a month but then I wouldn't get my credit card pay off very soon. I don't have a lot of extra cash in my budget so I don't know what to do. Should I pay off the debt and then get a car or what?
