naa the dealership can look it up on the computer and make sure it really does belong to you and then they can get a new clean title

Most likely you will. Call the DMV and see what you can do to get a replacement title quickly. Maybe they can rush things up for you. Always put the title in a safe place, as you now know. good luck.

yes-you can't trade the car until you have the title in your hand.

mandy, its tough when you do not have title. but some states let you go to the tag office and on line get a copy of your tiltle, when you noterise in front of the notery, the state will send the dealer a copy, not all states will alow this,
