Toyota the worlds best auto maker

2007-07-14 22:07:47 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Ford. For many reasons. 1) the Taurus brought the American car market back to life and forced Japanese car makers to start building in America. 2) the F-150 is the most sturdy and versatile pickup made with trims as basic as a short cab 6ft bed to the lightning. 3) It's in touch with the rest of the world in terms of development and adds that to its cars from the euro inspired Escort to the Escape hybrid. If you are a true driver whether a sports car ( the Ford GT) or luxury (Lincoln Town car ) You can appreciate the company as a whole. ( I know people with fords that have gone well over 200k miles) Ford keeps Americans in business and Imports on their toes.

They all have their good and bad points. Toyota/Honda have good reliability but their cars are about as exciting as a dish washer. GM/Ford makes ok cars at a bargain price. The German car companys make some of the highest quality/ highest performance vehicles but their reliability is in the toilet. Koreans make throw away cars pretty much.

Toyota or Honda, in my opinion. They make sturdy, high quality vehicles that go for hundreds of thousands of miles without problems. Hyundai is less expensive and offers a heck of a good warranty (10 yrs/100 thousand miles) but that makes me suspicious that they expect trouble with their vehicles.

American car manufacturers have made great strides to improve fit, finish and quality in the past few years so today most American makes are as good as Toyota or Honda, but they don't have the kind of track record the Japanese big two have.

The best as defined by reliability would be Toyota/Lexus. If you use other measures you might come up with somebody different.
