My wife and I went to a used car dealer and bought a car by financing it and gave them 2000.00 cash money and a trade in car for 500.00 and now that we have had the car 10 days and put new tires on it costing 500.00 and did an oil change and filter service on it as well as 100.00+ on another key with a chip and programing on the key.Now the company is calling and sayind they dont have reciept of the down payment which I handed the man in an envelope with the registration on the trade in and signed a power of attorney on the trade in for there ownership as well as had it towed there myself, and they say they are going to come and get the car back. What can I do?

I recently bought a new car 2 weeks ago. I traded my car in which I only owed about $800 on. The new car dealer has yet to send the pay of for my trade in. The bank says I am still responsible and that this is affecting my credit, since the payment shows as late now. I have talked to the financing department and they informed that nothing was wrong and that the check was cut and ready to be send out. 3 Days later and the bank has yet to receive the pay off. I bought the new car through a very big and well know dealership in Orange County. I am beginning to think that I am being put through the " the financing fell through scam" since my credit is not perfect. What can I do?

I bought a car on finance back in july 2006. It was £6000 with interest nearly came to £8000. I been paying every month havent defaulted or anything but i have recently become unemployed, not by choice, but i dont have payment protection so i am strugling to make the payment every month. Because i havent paid half the loan off i cant just give the car back. I tried selling the car but no one seems to want to pay enough so i can pay the finance 1st so i cant let it go. Does any1 know anyway i can get rid of the car? I dont know if a dealership would buy it off me as i need £5500 to settle! Please help as i dont want to get bad credit bcoz of this.

Hello,
I am going through the paperwork to get my dealer's license in NYS. I have been the purchaser for a different dealership for about a year and have learned a lot. The major thing I learned is that there is always something I dont know. Any car auction tips and tricks to picking a good car? Ive made good and bad picks and know the basics. Also, more importantly, and tips on running my first used car business, like how to provide financing for the consumers, etc? Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
