parts on bmw are pricey... escort...its a second hand turbo...you looking for sh&t... Toyota ... best buy... but the others will out perform it with out a chance. your question really depends on what you want to use the car for. I hate Toyota, i'd rather drive a bmw, but... in this case i still think the mr2 is a better buy.... i had one its nippy, love the rear wheel drive making it fun to throw around the corners... well balanced... but when power sliding it feel good untill the breaking point then you might find your self spinning a round-about (this is direct result from the mid mounted engine)

Toyotas last a long time, get good gas mileage, and are low maintenance, if that's what you mean by better. Can't beat a Beemer for performance, but the maintenance can be a bit pricey. I think the best cars would be hybrids. I don't know about maintenance, but the gas mileage should pay for the extra costs, and then some, given the price of gas.

Never buy an Escort. We mechanics call them disposable cars. They break down easily and often. The Toyota, if it is new. They usually have decent insurance rates, get good gas mileage, and aren't too expensive to maintain. BMW if you can afford the insurance, maitenance, and repairs. Either way, make sure you get the best warranty you can. Anything new will be expensive to repair. BMW will always be way more expensive to insure and maintain than a Toyota.

You are dealing with 3 companies that are as different as night & day!

Obviously, if you make $25000 annually I would strongly suggest you don't get a BMW of any kind unless it is 5 years old. If you make $80,000 annually then go for the Beamer.

It's not what your heart wants.. it's what your wallet DEMANDS. Analyze your earnings and act accordingly. It aint a hard decision to make!

I suppose I would say the Toyota, but if you want to save this planet from the extreme exhaust fumes from your car then why not get a nice new 1.1 fiesta. You don't really need a sports car because nobody really cares apart from people who will attempt to scratch it with their keys, or for the fun of it kick your door in, or simply steal your car. You see! if you had a 1.1 fiesta these things wouldn't happen.

:D

Ford has terrible resale value, BMW exudes class, Toyota is a sushi cart.

Ok, one thing you should know if you haven't realized this:
Bmw is the only company that is known to maintain its value better than any other company. You can never go wrong with BMW's. They're strong, luxurious, well-known, classy, etc.
