If you walk into a new car dealer and see a woman sales associate would you respect her as being capable? I know that women do work in car dealerships but .... Would a guy want to buy a car from her? Do women feel more comfortable buying cars from women?

I had thought about taking a job as a saleswoman at a local dealership due to the fact that I, too, know a little more about cars than the average woman...my husband encouraged me to try it based on the fact that (and this may sound a little bad but meant with the best intentions) that males may be drawn to a cute faced charming woman and impressed with a woman who has a wide knowledge of cars....aside from the single male shopping for cars, a couple/family or a single woman may trust a "saleswoman" more so than a salesman as women are more kind and sensitive and therefore less likely to be pushy or lie to get commissions...please keep in mind that those were my husbands opinions and he was just trying to be generally honest...I ended up choosing not to apply for the job based on personal reasons (PTA, hours, the value of my time @ home with my kids) but still think i would enjoy this type of job, if i were to get a job....and my opinion if i were to go to a dealership by myself as a woman i would be drawn to a sales woman over a salesman bc I've had many salesman not treat me seriously, i feel BECAUSE i was a woman, and they didn't give me the same "deal" that they offered my hubby! (we did that once to see what they would do if we came separately looking at the same car and was shocked at the difference!!!!!)

Yes, I would. I might be partial but I know more about cars than many Guys. Most guys I meet that mention cars at first blow me off but then soon realize that I know what I'm talking about. However a woman working in a car dealer ship that refers to a Honda as having a V4 should be fired for not knowing the difference in a straight engine V formation or horizontally opposed, and if they work for Volkswagen they should know the W formation as well. But If she knows what she is talking about and can show it then yes she would deserve and receive respect accept a few "Manly men" Hope this helps

Yes, i would not ind buying a car from a women sale person. the truth is , whenever i buy car, i have done my home work first. i know what car i am going to buy and what options and the length of warranty i am loOKing for. now if she get me a good deal on that particular car that's ok with me, bottom line is no one should just buy a car, what the sales person is recommending you.now a days you can check everything on the Internet including buying it.

wow...i hope that a man would feel comfortable buying a car from a woman. i never really thought about that before.

well, i think that he should because if the woman is working at a dealership, she is obviously qualified to be there.

i look forward to reading the other answers :)

It's a good idea on a cardealership's side to hire women salesreps.

One relaxes more and trusts women more than men in that situation. She could just stick it to you without you seeing it coming.

I'd buy one. Sure, no problem. I'd prefer it that way.
