If you don't want to spend a lot of money on your car, then you have to take into account not just insurance and gas but also maintenance and repair costs.

Honda Accord has a better reputation for quality, reliability, and fuel economy than the other cars you've mentioned. And this makes Honda Accord the best buy in terms of cost.

But if you don't care much about the cost and having a fast car is more important to you, then probably Mustang is a better option.

Try a Pontiac Solstice GXP. I have one. The car starts at about 27 thousand, but it is worth it. It gets VERY good gas mileage. It will take you 0-60 faster than the Porshe Boxster, and they are beautiful. A car that fast for under 30 thousand is a great deal! The only little thing is the insurance is kind of high

Get the Accord.

Its the most reliable out of those cars and it doesnt cost a lot to insure. Gets pretty good gas mileage too.

Go test drive a Subaru Legacy or Imprenza WRX/STI. It has go power and 4 wheel drive. It is also a safe car by design that the engine would slide below the car when hit head on.

Honda is probably the best economically.....but I personally don't like it. Mustang.....I could throw up from that one... Pontiac's will probably break down a lot, according to my experience...I say you get a Mercedes Benz. =D

This depends on engine size which you did not list. I'm inclined to say the 05 Impala if it is the small block V8, but I am unsure if small block V8s were available in 05.

My hondas have done me well... they are dependable, great on gas, zippy enough and have good resale values.
