I know it is pretty much standard to get a 'following too closely' ticket if you rear end someone, but I am just wondering if anyone knows how likely they are to be thrown out in court given that it is just your word against nobody's. Here is the situation: First off the road was wet and the accident occured on a downhill slope and the condition of the road was poor. I was traveling in the right hand lane when a line of cars in front of me put their brake lights on. I apply my breaks and check my side veiw mirror to move into the left hand lane. I see nothing in my mirror so I quickly glance and notice a car in my blind spot. When I look back ahead the car in front of me abruptly changes lanes and the car in front of him is at a complete stop.
The person I hit says that the car in front of her just stopped because of a large hole in the road and she had to hit her brakes abruptly as well. I have a court date for 'following too closely'. Is telling this story sufficient to be acquite

HERES WHAT HAPPENED.
THERE WERE 4 CARS...IT WAS LIKE A CAUSE AN EFFECT TYPE OF ACCIDENT.

THERE WAS A CAR INFRONT OF ME WE'LL CALL DEM CAR #2;THEN THERE WAS A CAR INFRONT OF THEM #1, I AM CAR #3 AND THE ONE BEHIIND ME IS #4....

YOUR WITH ME SO FAR?

WELL CAR #1 DID A IM ASSUMING LAST MINUTE RIGHT TURN. SO CAR #2 BRAKED AND ME (3) HAD TO BRAKE REALLY HARD I MEAN I EVEN HEARD MY BRAKES SCREECH IN ORDER TO NOT HIT THE 2 IN FRONT OF ME. CAR 4 OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T BRAKE IN ENOUGH TIME AND REAR ENDED ME.


COPS GOT THERE AND GOT MY DRIVERS LICENSCE REGISTRATION, AND INSURANCE AS WELL AS OUR SIDES OF THE STORY.

THE PROBLEM IS ITS MY RENTS CAR AND IM NOT IN THE INSURANCE.
I DON'T KNOW WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN!HELP!
THE COP TOLD ME THAT "YOU CAN KINDA TELL WHOS AT FAULT HERE"
CUZ HIS WHOLE BUMBER WAS SAMSHED YET MY BACK WASN'T..

I have a 1982 yamaha xt200 four stroke. The sticker on it says "GASOLINE GRADE: REGULAR (LEADED)." I add a lead additive in the fuel. The second thing on the sticker says "RESEARCH OCTANE: 91 MIN." I've been using regular gas. Should I use premium gas and what would the difference be? Thanks.

I have a 1985 Subaru GL-10 wagon that has started running rough once my speed gets up to about 35 mph. I'm suspecting the fuel filters (there are two). I bought replacements, but I've searched the engine and I can't find the old ones. Where are they?

The heater just blows air. The air conditioning and the compresor work good and I have no problems with it, but when I run the temperature button all the way to the hot side (red side), it just blows air at the outside temperature. I've checked the antifreeze for possible leakings, but I don't see anything. Can you give me some ideas where to start?

My car hasn't been starting lately so one of my friends came over and look at it today and told me it was because of the battery. The battery had blue stuff all over the top of it and made it impossible to take the battery out of my car. What am i supposed to now and how do i get the battery out?

I just turned 16 and i want a car with good gas mileage as gas prices are outrageous these days. I found an extremely nice BMW that is in my price range but it only gets 18 mpg (not terrible, but not great) I wanted to get a car that gets about 30mpg. So does anyone have any tips other than accelerating slower, braking less, and all of that??

okay a few weeks ago my car ran hot and i stop driving it. i got 2 mechanics to look at my engine and water was coming out of it they said it was the head gasket. but then my car wouldnt start either. then the next day it would start but i never drove since it over heated so once the mechanic replace the head and put a new head gasket init will the car still start? in other words does a bad head gasket stop a car from starting or not????

I have 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S and all of sudden my Remote Control Unit stopped to work yesterday. Intelligent Key works as expected and I'm able to open/lock doors from outside by pushing the door button manually when the key in my pocket. No problem with the starting the Car as well. From other hand, when I push the Lock,Unlock,Trunk or Panic button on Remote Control, no action being triggered. I've replaced the battery, but result is the same one. My second Unit works OK and car reacts respectively.
Am I need to reprogram my Remote Control Unit and how to do it for 2007 Altima with Intelligent Key if the answer is yes.
Please, help.

First, a little background. I drive a small front wheel car, a Ford Focus. I scraped my wheel against the curb the other day. I scraped up the wheel's lip a little bit, but everything seemed okay. I don't know that if that has anything to do with the problem I'm having now. When I make a sharp turn, I hear a sound like a metallic clink and clunk. It quickly goes away until I make another turn. Then it clinks and clunks again. I don't know if it has something to do with my wheel, my steering, or my suspension. What do you think? Thank you in advance.

What is the time limit to file a claim on a personal injury caused by a car accident? Would it be possible to sue the person that caused the car accident after one year, even though at that time there was no police report, and the person's car that got hit did not file a personal injury report? What are the chances of winning if a lawsuit is filed after one year of the accident? Since California has a statue of limitation of two years, could this person file a lawsuit even though he did not file for the personal injury, but onlly for the damages done to his car? I purchased a car 21 days ago. The dealership drug their feet on getting the car funded from the lender. The car was wrecked and may be totaled. So I have a possibly totaled car on my hands that the bank hasent funded the financing for. So NOW I get a call from the dealership saying they are missing a piece of information they need to get the loan funded. (this only after I found out that the car was never registered in my name, and had trouble getting it towed. I had to call the dealership) I told them what happened and they are basically wanting me to lie about the car to the finance company to get the car funded. They never came out and said it, but they are jumping around the subject. I don't know what to do. The car isn't in my name. My insurance company is paying for it which is fine because I wrecked it. I just don't want to lie, and now I have to jump hoops because the dealer drug their feet. What should I do and what is the law. Should I just keep the finance co. out of it?

I was involved in a minor accident this weekend. I rear ended a van in a parking lot. There was no damage to my truck and I couldnt see any damage to his van but he said his bumper was pushed in. I was nervous because that was the first accident I have ever been in and he was pretty mad. We didn't call the police but he took all my info and my insurance card. He called me the other day because I told him I would rather handle it without insurance. He said he got an estimate for $1300. He said I could make payments to him because I don't have 1300 dollars rite now. Or would I be better off claiming it? Pardon my ignorance, I don't know the name of the
small plastic or metal thing-a-ma-jigs many people
purchase to keep from running over deer.

They are placed on the front of the car on the bumper, and
apparently make a noise which repels deer, which
prevents them from running toward the noise / highway.

Could someone shed some light on these things?
Parents have one, never hit a deer. Brother doesn't
have them, did hit a deer. Coincidence?
