The heater just blows air. The air conditioning and the compresor work good and I have no problems with it, but when I run the temperature button all the way to the hot side (red side), it just blows air at the outside temperature. I've checked the antifreeze for possible leakings, but I don't see anything. Can you give me some ideas where to start?

There are few things that could cause this, One of the main things would be the Thermostat, I would check to see what you engine temp is when you have ran it for a while, if it is not running at atleast 150 degrees, then that is probably your problem. The other option would be the actual door that opens under your glove box. If you take the plastic box apart below the glove department, there should be a Heater Core, There will also be a duct system with a flap door that is suppose to open and allow the heat to blow into your car. I would check this and see if it is stuck closed, or maybe the cable that opens and closes this has came undone. Hope this helps.

There are two possibilities.
1) your thermostat is no longer working, It's stuck open so the coolant an never get warm enough to warm up the inside of the car. Cars use a secondary radiator, believe it or not, that is called a heater core. The engine circulates coolant through it when you turn the temperature dial over to hot and the blower blows air across it into your heating ventilation in your car.

2) The heater core is plugged. It may need flushed out or replaced. My guess is your thermostat is bad.

Good luck

NEVER replace any part till you know the problem. It is not the thermostat. If you look under the hood near, where the heater hoses connect to the heater, you will see a device on one of the hoses. This is a valve, it is either stuck closed or not working for some reason. It is probably vacuum operated and the vacuum hose could be broken. Some are electric operated in which case it will have a wire connecting to it.

Sometimes it's the thermostat not opening and not allowing the coolant to circulate through the heater.

you could have a problem with the heater control valve (bypasses heater core when the heater is turned off.) i have seen this recently on an older honda, the cable in the vehicle came out of the temperature control lever inside the car.

Check the thermostat....it's a cheap fix and easy to...If it's stuck closed it's not letting the hot air thru and they get gummy after a while.
