Hi, this is kind of a bizarre question, but here goes...

I want to make a propeller that will lift a person (roughly 150-200 lbs plus the engine) five feet into the air. How big would the propeller have to be, and how big/heavy would the engine have to be? Any help is appreciated.

I'm sixteen years old, and I have a passion for the water and sailing. I read many books about boats, knots, everything there is to know. Now, I live on the east coast in a very nice area of Virginia. I told my dad that in the Summer I would like to take Sailing lessons or join the sailing club at school?

My dad said that...well, it hurt me actually. He said that it would be a bunch of rich kids with their own boats and I'd look ridiculous. I can work for it, I'll pay for it. This is my dream you guys. If I save my money, how much would sailing lessons be? And is this really true?

When I drive the car a short distance and turn off the car it will not for about 10 mins. the lights on the dash light up but all I hear is a click under the dash or in the fuss panel I had the starter rebuilt and the battery checked sometimes after it starts the second time I can shut it off and start it again and again with no trouble. my wife drives this car and when it happens she will call me but before I can get to her it starts.

Ok so over this past summer my car would leak the condensation from the a/c onto the floor where your feet go on my passenger side. It even got a little swampy. Procrastinator that I am, I didn't clean it up. Yes, I'm sure it was condensation, a friend who is a mechanic told me I probably just need to clean out the vent it would normally go through because debris from the road will clog it occasionally. Anyway, at this point how do I go about cleaning up this mess? Should I pull up the rug? If so , how , and what do I use to clean it, and how? Might seem silly, but I'm kind of afraid of what I'll find under there, I'm expecting mold. I know, disgusting, please help!

I own a 2000 dodge neon with about 120,000 miles on it.
Out of the blue the transmission started slipping....BAD.
I checked the fluid and there wasn't any. I put in a quart and it was still slipping badly. I stopped and looked and trans fluid was leaking from under the front part of the car big time.
What is most likely the culprit and what will it cost me to get it fixed?
Should I just buy a used or rebuilt trans and have it installed?
I am currently screwed cause I can't get to work.

I also understand it was used to test units that had undergone modification as well. I am researching for a book on trains and the Styal loop has cropped up a few times. Thanks.

I have a 4-gear auto box which causes chugling when TCC is locked (3rd and 4th gear). Once the brake pedal is touched it unlocks it and the chugling effect goes away. That led me to assume there's some tranny slippage occurring. I know fixing TCC with "open surgery" can get very pricey. Any other way?

Can you please get as technical as possible? (Braking performance, acceleration, under steer, etc.) Obviously a tire shop told me I would have to go with all four new tires, "especially on a FWD car"; but my objective is to get through a winter with the least expense and sell the car next summer.
Please advise.

I have a VW Golf and I've been trying to drift it lately. Not too heavily just once in a while slide. Apparently I have flat spots on both my back tires. My parents don't know why but I do. The bumping sound it makes is awful. Is there any way to remedy this besides buying new tires?

When driving stick shift and braking to stop fully at an intersection:

let's say you're is in 5th gear and you sees up ahead that you will have to stop at a red light. Can you simply brake until the intersection and disengage the clutch just before you stop?

And when you've disengaged the clutch, can you just throw it into 1st gear at the light? Or do you have go through 4 3 2 first?

I got a whole new(newer) rearend for my 97 formula recently and it has a computer controlled transmission and the rearend I put in isnt the same exact gearing and it seems to shift too late now and my speedo is off, I realize there is programmers to change shift points and change ratios, but I am not sure what the new ratio is... and if I did know, how would I go about changing this back to stock shift points(or better) for cheap or free. all I know right now is that when im going 55 mph, my speedo says roughly 68-69 mph, give or take a bit since I was just using a pace car with cruise on. Any help on this would be great!

This is a problem because it keeps killing my battery. Last night I had to jump it to go to work, and i just disconnect the battery when I get there just in case. ANY SUGGESTIONS. IS THERE A RELAY THAT CONTROLS ALL THE LIGHTS? ANY HELP
