When I drive the car a short distance and turn off the car it will not for about 10 mins. the lights on the dash light up but all I hear is a click under the dash or in the fuss panel I had the starter rebuilt and the battery checked sometimes after it starts the second time I can shut it off and start it again and again with no trouble. my wife drives this car and when it happens she will call me but before I can get to her it starts.

if your car is equipped with the antitheft system[most likely]
try replacing the antenna coil around the ignition switch these have been known to fail intermittantly and give the same symptom as you describe the part is less than 20 us dollars and takes about 10 minuits to install. [also be sure to use only factory cut key's that are in perfect shape]

A couple of things you should check are the basics first, Check battery connections at the starter motor, and solenoid, make sure the two wires at the starter are tight and in clean, check connections at battery, tight and clean? Next when it doesnet start check to see if it starts with the gear slector in neuatral instead of park or make sure the clutch is fully engaged to the floor if it is a manual trans, sometime the floor mat will bunch up under the clutch pedal. Lastly if you can catch the problem when it is happening have someone try and start the car and you check the small green or green and red wire at the starter for power witha test light while trying to start the car, you may need an ignition switch.
