It's very obvious. Stated in the specs. WRX produces 225 BHP, STI 265 BHP. Evo 280 BHP. Mainly it's because of the twin scroll turbo in Evo's 4G63. Whereas Subaru uses the conventional single port turbocharger. Twin scroll turbo produces less lag. That is why the Subaru JDM Spec C (or Spec RA? Whatever!) is capable of producing 280 BHP despite it's 2.0L EJ20 engine. It's because of the twin scroll turbo.

who said the evo is quicker???? it depends on the driver. like nick said whoever wants to beat up their clutch is probably going to win. and the sti has 300hp and 300torque. but the sti is heavier. evos are nice, they have the legendary 4g63, and the 16g turbo. whereas the sti has a lower compression then the evo so it has better low end power. im not ragging on evos i used to have a GSX with the same motor and i loved it. DSM are amazing cars but i hate fixing it every other week. you can make both cars fast. by the way the wrx is a 2.0 and the sti is the 2.5. the evo has a higher boost from the factory then the subaru does. subaru has a softer suspension but has symetrical AWD, with the differential. but by far evos are much easier to work on. i have to have a jack up the motor and then use a special tool just to check my spark plugs. its a even match in my eyes between the two and i love when they line up together, its always an adventure

The Evo comes from the factory tuned more aggressively than the STI. Put the same amount of boost in the STI that the Evo is pushing, and the larger displacement would win out. Now if you're talking about track times, the Evo's stock suspension is also set up more aggressively than the STI. If you're talking about comparing two stock cars, the Evo is just set up more aggressively from the factory than the STI, plain and simple. However, I would argue that the STI has a little bit more potential once you factor in aftermarket tuning and parts. That's coming from a Subaru guy. An Evo guy would probably not agree.

Both cars are seriously fast for 4 door sedans. Mitsubushi EVO8 is lighter than the subie. Uses more stock boost pressure. Subaru has more drive line refinements viscus differentials and center diff. My experence is those boy rice racing cars don't last very long and most are run very hard. I will keep my 400+ hp V-8

the quicker car in a drag race is the one whose driver is willing to launch more abusively. at the race track it depends on the driver.
