I have never owned a diesel and I know they have glow plugs and need to warm up longer than a regular car, but is it really necessary (or even beneficial) to leave them running while parked. I regularly see these trucks idling outside of convenience stores and other businesses while the owner is inside.

I also see people start their trucks and let them idle for ages while they load them up.

My tools, which have been in storage, are covered in surface rust...is there a simple way of cleaning them, or will I need to take them to the hobby shop and sand blast them? thanks!

Its an old model. The block is by GM. 4 cylinders. Mercruiser does not support this model anymore.
What GM car parts can I use as replacement and what complete car / boat engine can I fit to the existing sterndrive?
Anyone out there faced with this same problem?

Why do you speed up and slow down for no apparent reason? Can't you just pick a speed and drive it?

Why do you accelerate when I try to pass you?

Why do you put your turn signal on only after you start making your turn?

Why are you in the left lane?

Why do you keep your foot on the gas even though there's a red light ahead and you'll have to brake soon?

Why do you drive with one foot on the gas and one on the brake? Don't you realize that a vehicle with its brake lights on all the time is the same as one with no brake lights?

Why do you speed up in the passing zone, then slow down in the no passing zone?

Do you use your brain when driving, or just emotion?

So I'm driving to the gym this morning and the BRAKE light on my dash (the one that usually lights up when the e-brake is pulled) switches on.

It stays on for the length on my drive (about 10 minutes) but when I turned my car back on an hour later, everything is back to normal.

I have a well-maintained 2001 Hyundai Accent with about 104,000 miles. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on?

I got my fuel pumped changed on friday, and today it did not want to start. Its getting towed back to the mechanic now, what do you think the problem is NOW??

1994 Chevy Camaro 3.4 sv6

cant be the alternator cause I changed that this past august and cant be the battery cause that was changed in august as well

yes the car still cranked and i did not leave anything on. I really do not think it is the battery...

I just found out that my car was not starting because I did not have any gas. My meter was telling me that a had half a tank of gas. The gauge is messed up, and its going to be $500 to fix. I could not afford to get it fixed. One of my fiends is going to try to find one at a junk yard. I just have to always make sure I have gas, and think about how much in my head.

I know these are for gathering traffic flow data but in particular: Many times you see 1 cord, other times you see 2. Is 1 for only counting the cars? Is the 2 cords for speed data and count? Doesn't seem like speed data could be derived from one very acturately. Anything else I haven't mentioned?

I've had so many people drive past me at full speed, barely giving me any room on the road, which I have a right to. Some people honk at me, people are plain rude. If you go by "might vs. right," I'm surprised you even know how to use a computer to be answering this question!

I was driving on the parkway yesterday and saw a dead mattress lying on the shoulder. Looked like it had just fallen there recently, since it was sticking out onto the right lane a bit and looked fairly clean.
What's the etiquette for dealing with a mattress that has flown off your vehicle? The Parkway is a pretty busy roadway; I would think it would be unsafe to go and try and collect your former/future sleeping companion, but, should you just leave the thing there to die an ignominious death?

The first 3 speeds of the fan do not work properly. It must be on 4th speed to get any decent air flow.
