The wheel will fall off if the bearing is bad enough. I used to work at an auto shop and someone came in complaining that the car wasn't riding right, and that it made a funny noise when she turned the wheel. When I got it up on the lift and started to check the suspension, I started to shake the tire to check the ball joints and the wheel came off in my hands. This lady never realized the danger she was in, or how lucky she really was. She even thought that I broke her car so she would have to have it fixed.

All of the above, plus ruining the spindle and if you think a new wheel bearing cost money triple it to replace a spindle on a front wheel drive car.

depends on the car..some can heat up and catch fire..
others will lock up..i have seen a few lose the wheel and axle.
not only damaging that car but ..threatening the lives of others around it..
please get it repaired before driving..
the danger can not be overstated

As the voice of experience I can tell you to get it fixed right a way. It's frightening when your wheel falls off and it can be very dangerous.
