My tools, which have been in storage, are covered in surface rust...is there a simple way of cleaning them, or will I need to take them to the hobby shop and sand blast them? thanks!

I sometimes take scotch bright to mine.. Are you talking about your hardened steel sockets? I have that happen all the time to mine. Sometimes WD40 and a rag works.

WD40 and a good cleaning cloth work well, maybe use same sandpaper with the WD40 if the rust is hard to remove.

Good luck

Try soaking them in coke...I remember hearing something about the acid in it...I have never tried this and I am sure the other suggestions are better but this is a cheap thing to try and can't hurt :)
