Does anyone have any DATA regarding what constitutes a weak automotive battery? This would involve a standard 12 volt automotive battery.

I'm specifically looking for what voltages you would read and/or what amperage you would read when you test the battery.

The reason I ask this is that I went in for a State Inspection the other day and the "commercial" facility tested my battery and told me it was weak and should be replaced. I suspect they were trying to sell me a battery, but I would like to know the true data so I can do the voltage/amperage tests on the battery myself.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, any advice appreciated. Recently have noticed an occasional clunking noise when I brake. Doesn't happen often enough to tell if it happens at a certain speed, going round a bend, etc. I know probably best to take it to garage to be checked but want to be prepared!

It's a Saab 900S 2.0 1997 convertible, 57000 miles

I own a Honda S2000 and I don't want to burn out my clutch. I have a habit of holding down the clutch while I am breaking. Especially going down hills.

The problem started as a slow clicking noise and had the signs of a bad starter so I took it in to get tested at AutoZone and it failed the test. Replaced it. Started one time then after that went back to clicking but really fast clicking. Took the battery in to get tested and it was shot. Replaced it. Now the car still just has a really fast clicking noise when I try and start it. All the lights and radio work fine. Any suggestions?

1. would it be appropriate to impose a severe fine ?
2. would it be appropriate to suspend the drivers licence for life ?
3. would it be appropriate to expose such offenders on national / satellite tv so that all alike will be able to identify the offenders in public..........guess the humility would be difficult to handle..!

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus EFI Sedan, 4 door. The gas meter seems to be broken, I think.

It has read Full for the past 5 days. Today it went to E, then slowly crept up to about a quarter of of tank, which is about right for the amount of gas I put in last night.

Do you think the meter on the dashboard is broken or the float in the fuel tank? (please also tell me the correct names for these products so I am able to tell the people what I need when I call- thanks!.)

And upon that determination, do you think I could get this part from a place such as AutoZone, or go directly to the dealership?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

What's that fluid in your car that leaves the cement looking dry when it rains? apparently it 'seals' that part of the cement where it dripped and not allowing water to absorb in that section of the driveway.

I do not mean for this to be a racist question. I have been told by a car expert that the Chrysler 300 looks like a Bentley and is driven by the black gangsta crowd. Just a observation. Did Lee Iacoco do a promo with Snoop Dog? I wonder if thats where the design came from. Again just an observation and no offense.
