On one of the trailers we have the rubber hub cap plug is melting and the hub cap itself seem to be expanding. We checked the wheel bearing and everything is fine. Does anyone know what causes this and how can I solve this problem?

A week ago we put the car in the shop because it was apparent that you could hear the transmission shifting. It wasn't a big deal, but we took it in anyway. 3 days later they say they can't find anything wrong with it.. but then the garage guy wanted to take it home and check it out over night. He did that and the next day he said it needs a transmission overhaul. $2.8k So for a few days nothing is wrong w/it and then they decide that it needs an overhaul... kind of odd right?

It wasn't detrimental to have it done yet, and even now the car sounds the same! It has a noticeable shift. Did they rip us off? Should we call and complain?

The new tire has about 2-3 mm more tread depth than the other rear tire. I've been told that since the tire is in the rear, it shouldn't cause any problems. What I am wondering is, since there is a 2-3 mm difference, could this cause an alignment problem for me in the future when I rotate my tires again about 7,000 miles from now? Thanks for your help.

I have a 99 GST Turbo Convertible Eclipse Spyder that I bought a few years ago with a Rebuilt Salvage title. You would not even be able to tell that it was in an accident. It looks great.

I have been putting a lot of money in the car fixing it up (making it look nice and faster) and one of my friends told me the other day that if something happened to my car I would get practically nothing since it has a Rebuilt Salvage title. Is this True?

I have only had liability since I bought it and this has never came up before.

So assuming that I get hit tomorrow by a car that is insured and it totals out my car, how much of my car's worth would I get? What about all the money in parts and accessories that I put into it?

I was in right most lanes driving at 5 miles above speed limit. Although rest of the traffic in left lanes was faster than me I was caught. Police officer never showed me the radar speed to me but randomly wrote as approx speed limit as 10 miles above the speed limit (when I was actually only 5 above) and has not indicated any speed under radar speed on citation.

I think this is more of random thing in my case when other cars were faster than me. I would like to challenge and seek help. Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

the clutch is still working ok, but when i removed the clutch cover to check it was nothing dangerous i noticed the clutch basket has gouged a groove out of the inside of the cover. the niose only occurs when the lever is pulled in and there is nothing loose and no obvious free play in anything behind the clutch cover.I have not touched anything on this engine prior to this noise appearing, any ideas would be appreciated.

The horn in my Mitsubishi Galant 2001 is not working. Any idea on how expensive this would be to repair? Can I do it myself? The way it broke was the horn got stuck as I was driving and I was scaring people so I started pounding on the horn and it eventually stopped.(for good)

Thanks

I am a high school senior and looking for colleges or places to train myself to be an airline pilot. I heard that if I join Marines Reserve, the government will pay for all of my college tuition ( I want to go to Embry Riddle Aero Uni). Yet, I don't know if Marines will be a good place for me because I am a tiny asian girl( about 5 ft tall). I heard Marines have the toughest training. Thanks!

I got a dui years ago and have now saved enough to buy my car and get it on the road. The risk of my age and record, I found myself going through an insurance company that looks like it literally has holes in the wall. Their advertisement is that they will accept anyone. And they will for the month to month price they can get. I noticed they copied down the wrong vin number for my vehicle. They stated that it was not important for sr22's. I had some spare time later and went back with the correct one written down for them to copy. In front of me they wrote down the wrong number off the sheet I handed them. "well okay... I'm just going to write down this". "it shouldn't be a problem" Is basically what they said to me during the process. is there any reason they would avoid using correct info? Or is it really just not that important?
(PS The number on my mailed insurance cards is incorrect and I just wrecked the car last week).
