It is a mint condition 95 Camaro Z28 Convertible.

Are you sure that is what the light is about? The most common ones are an oil level sensor and a water temperature sensor. The Camaro engine coolant temperature sensor is in the water pump.

Both excellent answers about the coolent level and the defective sensor.

It's a little bit less likely, but it could be a head gasket issue. I definitely wouldn't try to solve the problem by over filling the radiator and reserve. The only reason I say that is because that is also common among midsize GM sports cars of the late 90's.... especially if someone really felt the need to be heavy on the gas and really wore down the engine.

Look in the overflow reservoir and check the level there. That is where many of the sensors are. It is a warning for well before anything goes really bad.

coolant level sensor is probably bad very common on this model and year
