i'd be skeptical with regard to the 60k or 100k+ figures on those engines. that's basically yet another used engine and yet for the pinnacle gasket leak yours is as good or extra constructive. i'd get the suitable value on the gasket interest with milling the surfaces and additionally a particular parent just to get rid of the pinnacle for inspection. If the pinnacle is cracked that's advisable to bail. the different determination would be to get a distinctive vehicle. If it have been a clean engine, ok, yet those engines are an unknown--maximum probable to the mechanic besides. while they start up coming down in value based on the commonplace of the engine, you will extra constructive run considering the fact which you will get an entire engine at a picknpull or different junkyard for under some hundred money. that's precisely what they're going to do, pocketing almost the whole $2500-3000. it actual relies upon on basically how good the engine grew to become into previously the gasket. Did it burn oil? you keep asserting how reliable it grew to become into--yet they are all reliable previously they break down!

Yes in most cases it does...and they get ultra hot very very fast

Most blown head gaskets are caused by cooling system and or transmition problems which caused the engine to get too hot...

a bad thermostat, water pump, or radiator ... or even just the coolant being to low can cause it to happen

Yes...this just happened to my wife's car in July.

A blow head gasket is pretty much the end of the car's life...that is unless the car is worth the expense of replacing the engine.
