Yesterday I bought a 1979 Mustang Fastback in immaculate condition with only 64,000 miles on it. We are the 3rd owners and I bought it for my boyfriend and my daughter will get it when she turns 16. Well, since 1979 NO ONE has smoked in it, and my dummie boyfriend smoked in it and it really upset me!!! Would you be upset since it's in perfect shape and smells nicer than a dirty ashtray? I guess the 1st owner was so anal he followed the 2nd owner around to make sure she didn't smoke in it, crazy but he took AWSOME care of it for a long time.

brakes ae engaged when i start to drive off, with tell tale braking noise and sluggishness. it appears to be all four brakes. the emergency brakes are not on and the car is in drive. i am thinking it is a brake cylinder isssue, but i need a mechanic to tell me the real deal.

Okay, I had my freon recharged, plus my serpentine and timing belts, and the tensioner replaced (which Meinke said would fix it), and the A/C still only blows HOT AIR, no matter what setting it's on. Please help!!

As an HGV driver I had to pass a stringent driving test before being allowed to drive articulated vehicles on the public highways. And am subject to reams of regulations. While any car driver - with a full driving licence & 2 years experience driving a 'Puddle Jumper' can stick a 'Wobbly Box' onto the towbar & tootle off down the road without any training & end up 'Jack-knifed' in a ditch or spread all over the motorway wondering why it all went pear-shaped. Also should they be taxed & subject to yearly M.O.T style tests - as are HGV trailers. By the way. if you are in any doubt, I am ANTI CARAVANS so have a very large axe to grind!! This should stir up a hornets nest with a bit of luck. I look forward to the good debate I am expecting from the comments off the 'Why tax our hobby' brigade!

I am rebuilding a Wisconsin VH4D and I can't figure out how the oil pump works. Behind the idler gear ther is a place for a pipe plug. I can't remember if there was a plug in it or not. How does the oil get from the oil pump to the oil nozels? The motor has been apart for about 3 months waiting on the machine shop to do the machining and I don't remember some of the odds & ends. Answers will be greatly appreciated

1989 32' Carver with the original merc 350ci engines. have had the boat for 4 years. engines start/run/idle smoothly and powerfully. when first started and warmed up, the engines will run 3000 to 3200rpms (about 14/15 gph) for an hour with no problems. one motor will suddenly stumble, like it's not getting fuel. it will pick up again, and stumble, worse and worse... backing off the throttle all the way and shutting off the engine for 1 minute, then restarting - it will run perfect again for 20 minutes? it happens to both motors randomly - with two completely independent systems. (different fuel tanks/lines/pumps/filters...) have changed the filters (both in-line and fuel water separators) numerous times, and see no visable particles, nor any significant change. pulled the pick up line out of the tank and inspected... nothing notable. ideas?

I recently just took my road test, and I failed. Some of things that I did wrong was fail to observe, uses mirrors only/fails to check blind spot when leaving the curb/ Poor judgment on turning and observing when it comes to turning and intersections. Fails to adequately observe/use caution in parking and break u turn. poor judgment in traffic. when changing lanes, fail to signal and use caution. What I do get is, fails to anticipate potential hazards. Last thing is, delayed braking/abrupt braking. What should I do, since I have to take a couple of more classes and take the road test again?

Yesterday I was leaving work and my truck had no batttery power, I figured maybe I had left the lights on so I would just get a jump and be ok. When I jumped the truck it would turnover but would die unless I kept giving it gas. I revved it up hoping the alternator would charge it, and I got it to idle ok. On the way home my check gauge indicator came on, and I noticed the battery guage was all the way over to "H". Today I was going to jump it the same way and take it to the shop, but now I can't keep it from dying if I don't stay on the gas. Could it be as simple as picking up a new battery, or is this an alternator problem, or what?
