Yesterday I bought a 1979 Mustang Fastback in immaculate condition with only 64,000 miles on it. We are the 3rd owners and I bought it for my boyfriend and my daughter will get it when she turns 16. Well, since 1979 NO ONE has smoked in it, and my dummie boyfriend smoked in it and it really upset me!!! Would you be upset since it's in perfect shape and smells nicer than a dirty ashtray? I guess the 1st owner was so anal he followed the 2nd owner around to make sure she didn't smoke in it, crazy but he took AWSOME care of it for a long time.

What did you expect? He smokes, you bought him a car, why would you think that he wouldn't smoke in it??

At any rate, what's done is done. When your daughter turns 16, and gets the car, your BF can help her clean out all the smoke and wash it down good. You may not get it all out, but eventually you will.

PS.-- Why did you have to buy your BF a car? Why couldn't he buy his own? I doubt if your daughter will ever see the car from the drivers seat. ( you don't have to answer these questions, but I thought I'd mention them) good luck to you.

DUMP HIM!
How can he ruin such a treasure. A '79 that has never been smoked in.
That's almost a never find. What was he thinking?
My brothers were that way whenever I got a new car, they would TRY to light up and i threatened to let them out in the country to walk for miles.
Some ppl can be real jerks!

I would be upset. Seeing has it was a gift you would think he would have been nice enough not to smoke in it. Also it being a 79 Mustang with low milage, common sense should have told him not to smoke in it. Smoking is disgusting anyways. I'd take the keys and drive it yourself.

As long as he keeps the windows down and doesn't burn anything, it is OK. My 01 F150 still smells new and I smoke in it, but I always have a window down and don't use MAX A/C that would draw smoke into the sweaty evaporator and stink.

dont kill him sweetheart, your daughter needs a daddy. Maim yes, muder no. Remember that mantra. Its wrong to smoke in a classic like that because it lowers the value. soundslike dummie boyfriend needs to stay out of it.

If you knew your boyfriend smoked, you should have either told him the rules first or not bought it for him.

Clearly your Boyfriend is White trash and cares more about his image than the rarity of the car. How long have you been with him, and why isn`t he your Husband yet?
