The car has about 110,000 miles on it. The things I have replaced on the car have been the transmission, the catalytic converter, it has had the spark plugs changed, the ignition switch, muffler, oil gets changed every 3,000 miles....I know some of these don't have anything to do with the gas, but I just wanted to mention those. What can I do to improve my gas mileage? What other maintenance should I do on my car now that its a little over 100,000 miles? I have a Honda Civic, and it is usually great on gas..but for the last year, it hasn't been.

There have been a number of road accidents involving bicycles in my area recently in which 3 people were killed,i don't entirely blame the bike riders but i do feel they are to blame alot of the time, why are they given their own lanes and traffic lights yet they do not pay road tax, insurance or have a license plate.
maybe they would cycle alot more safely if these actions were taken.

I just want to know if the shop has to do it, or if its something that is easy, that either me or my boyfriend could do ourselves. The shops want to charge 150 bucks each(transmission and brakes). That seems a bit steep. If I can do it myself, how many bottles for each would I need, and what would I need to do? Are there any websites that may help?

I just checked my car's motor oil after i got the car painted a week ago, and i was shocked that the motor oil i just filled a month ago was empty. I was just wondering is it safe for me to drive my car to the auto dealer if the drive is a rather short one? would it damage anything? TQ.

Interested in looking at the 1950's chevy Bel Air line. I really do not like someone that beefs the car so that they burn a gallon of gas a minute from idling nor do I like cars that have the interior and exterior revamped. Everytime I think I found one with great body work, the seats are switched to something else or they are full of guages that were not originally there. Personally, I want my cars to look as original as possible.

With that said, should I purchase an old hearty car and restore it back to its originallity or should I just try to find the closest that I can that it already restored. WHICH IS CHEAPER?
Thanks

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I respect all peoples ideas for their revamped cars, good for them, just not for me.

I want to know from your experice. Please answer the 4 questions because you will help me and so many others in finding an honest mechanic. That is what I strive to be in Coldwater, MI.

1. Do you have a perticular shop you get your repairs done?
2. What made you pick the shop you were last at?
3. Will you go back to the same shop again in the future?
4. If you go back to the same shop, do you go back because ofthe price or the service?

I own a '98 Grand Voyager. Last night I got caught in a heavy storm and hit a flooded section on the only route I can take home. When that happened, the power steering stopped working, the engine started to overheat, and the battery "idiot light" went on. The engine did cool down by the time I got home and this morning the battery light turned back off, but the engine doesn't idle quite right and the power steering is still shot. My husband thinks it's just a fuse but I think it's more serious and I refuse to drive the van until I know. Can anyone help?

While driving my wife heard a large bang and the car went into Low 4WD. She did not turn the controller to L4WD. She didn't know what happened and drove the car home for about 4 miles at 30 MPH. Once she got home, I noticed the L4WD was on, but the switch was in AWD position. We got the car out of low 4 wheel drive by putting the car in nuteral and turning the switch to low 4WD and then back to AWD. I've switched it through the 3 drives and it seems to be working properly now. Any advice?

I want to start looking for a new vehicle soon and I know what features I want in a vehicle, however, I do not know which make/model would best fit my needs. If you know anything about cars.....Please Help!

Here is what I want in a vehicle~
A Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)
Good to Moderate fuel economy
Third-Row Seating (3rd Row)
4 Wheel Drive (4X4)
4-Doors

These are the basic wants that I have, aside from other general basics (like power locks, power steering, etc). I keep finding vehicles that I like, however alot of them do not have the 3rd row option and I really would like to have it.

I appreciate any input provided!

Thanks and Have a wonderful day! :)

So boost is measured by how much the air is compressed because when the volume decreases the pressure increases and if you increase the volume of air and compress it you have a higher boost pressure? Or is boost pressure how hard the turbo is working to pump the air? I read that on a website? Is this correct? How can you be producing more boost when at lower air masses than at higher air masses? Example 9psi@30lb/min 20psi@20lb/min How is this possible? Is it becaus eof turbine shape, design, weight, material do all those factors come in play? When there is more pounds of air flowing wouldnt there be more boost because more air is flowing so more air is being compressed? Or does it depend on volume rather than pounds? Can you please explain this to me in detail?

Speeding, drinking and driving, using a mobile whilst driving.....these are all criminal acts....the same as burglary. (The difference is that usually, burglary doesnt have the potential to cause injury or death). So why do so many people do it?

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a missfire after leaving the motorway and drove like this for around 10 miles home. My diagnostics involved removing plug caps and I found that removing cap 2 had no effect (mis-fire stayed the same). Replacing the coil pack resolved this and the mis-fire is gone.

However, since this I have a horrible valve rattle (That is what is sounds like to my dumb ear) at around 4k revs, any gear. It is worse under load but is there even cruising on the motorway. Have had it at a Ford Dealer twice. First time they loaded the latest Ignition software - no effect. The second time they say that reprogrammed the fuel system - no effect. Now they say that I need a "liquid de-coke"

I think that they are clutching at straws but would be interested in other's views.

There does not appear to be any loss of performance or economy but I am worried that it may be something serious and is not a true pinking at very low revs.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Wayne

Will it be ok? I put more in but I have no idea how long it was running like that. I'm a little scared because it only has 60,000 miles on it. I think the douchebag that changed my oil might have messed up...

I drove the car around the city this afternoon and came back home. I had to head to the Uni in the evening and tried starting the car. It wouldn't budge. The horn, headlight and everything work fine. I even removed the battery and charged it completely, but it wouldn't start. I don't even hear the 'krrrrrr' it used to make everytime i started the car. Don't know what happened. It was working fine this morning. Please help!
