Or would I be better off going to a dealership?

You'll get a better price on craiglist even before bargaining with the seller, just means you have to drive to each persons location. Lots of dealers list cars on craiglist, ebay and autotrader too. If you are smart, you won't buy any used car without having a private mechanic give it a through check for any issues or needed repairs. A bad transmission or missed maintenance can add $1000's to your price later, so well worth $200 to have the mechanic tell you whats wrong or could go wrong today.

You should also go to dealerships, they have a better selection at one location, on-site financing, and might have some type of warranty or guarentee on the car.

Sure I'd buy off Craigslist. If the car is offered by an individual and not a dealer you will probably get a much better price.

Just because your dealing with someone on craigslist does not mean it's not a dealer.

Ask to be sure, you will be dissapointed when you arrive at the address and find out it is a Chevy dealership.

And all this time you have been wasting your time.
