I just checked my car's motor oil after i got the car painted a week ago, and i was shocked that the motor oil i just filled a month ago was empty. I was just wondering is it safe for me to drive my car to the auto dealer if the drive is a rather short one? would it damage anything? TQ.

Unless you want to replace the engine Id suggest that you put in a few quarts prior to driving it.

The oil is the life blood of your car. There is a good possibility that it will damage the car, granted that you do not have to go very far. If you filled the oil up and now it is empty, it means that you must have a hole somewhere. I would get that checked out asap! I would drive your car to the nearest place that sells motor oil, if it is the dealer then go right ahead but I would not take any chances. The damage to the engine would be very bad. The engine could seize and then you will need to spend LOTS of money repairing, or getting a new engine. Hope this helps.

Only time will tell if you did any major damage to the motor by running it out of oil. The oil is the life-blood of your engine. If you want the Jeep to last you for much longer, you will change the oil and filters on a regular basis (every 3,000-5,000 miles). Don't want to spend the time and money on regular maintenance? Then be prepared for some VERY expensive repairs in the near future.

Do not drive the vehicle without motor oil. The engine will be damaged and then you will have a big bill to replace or rebuild.

No way! You need to find out what happened to your oil pronto. You need to put oil in your car or tow it to a mechanic. Without oil your car will run for only a few miles and then the damage that will be done to your car will be detrimental.

Better put oil in first. You'll be lucky to make it a block or 2 without blowing up the motor.

NO, DO NOT START IT!! Now, I doubt that it is actually empty or you would already have a problem. Put oil in it NOW before starting it. If it actually were empty, you will damage the engine drastically and permanently in seconds.
Good Luck

No. Don't even start the engine!! Fill the oil up to the full mark first or you will do major engine damage.

Is it safe to skydive without a parachute? No, stop driving, fill ti up and figure out where its going (mechanic)! Shouldnt even turn it on it if truely empty.
