I have a 2001 ford escape 3.0 v6, my check engine light came on and I heard a hissing sound coming from the engine compartment. I checked and I found a peice of melted plastic plugged in near the egr vave with two small tubes blowing hot air/exhaust into the engine compartment. I called ford with the part number frm the burnt piece of plastic and they told me it was the egr pressure sensor i bought one and they said to instal it with regular rubber fuel line, I did but the hose and sensor melted away. How do I install it and keep it from melting the hose and the part? could there be something else wrng that is making it hot enough to melt away I dont see how becuase the tubes are directly connect tot a tube that is connected to the exhaust manifold. lease help.

How do you fix this? The star adjuster only clicks tighter and won't back off to loosen the pads- cant remove drum. Also there is a plate behind the drum so I cannot hit the drum with a hammer to get it off- nothing to grab on to either.

My car was driving fine. There was no brake light or anything. When I arrived at work i went to park and the brakes lost they're resistence and the pedel hit the floor. Thankfully it was the curb that stopped my car. Could it be just as easy as it needing brake fluid?

My 1989 Mercedes engine just broke, it had 200,000 miles on it and it is in great shape. I am the second owner. My mechainic has an engine for me that has only 35,000 miles on it to replace my old one, it will be $3,000 to fix and that is with labor. If I replace it I can have a few more years of my car. What should I do, should I get it fixed or buy a new car from my uncle who is a car dealer for toyota, but payments would be high for me? I only have a part time job and babysitting as well as a full time college schedule. Please help me decide.

I meet this girl last night at my friend's house (she's a friend of a friend)...we didn't really talk 1 on 1 except for the initial introduction, but our whole group were just talking and hanging out together...I really like her and would like to get to know her but I don't know how to get the conversation started next time I see her...what should I say? What should I talk about?

My fuel pump died. I replaced the pump sending unit was good. Ran great before the old pump died. After installing new pump the truck runs but has some hesitation and jerking kind of feeling. if you feed her a little slow she gains speed but if you try to push her down at all she hesitates and jerks. If you really try to punch it all it does is rev a bit high but just drops out jerks hesitates. I checked made sureall was tight. The only thing i can think of is a possible pressure regulator. Open to all advice Thanks.

Hi-

I was involved in a car accident yesterday. A woman ran a red light and hit two cars, mine and another. I was in the passenger seat and her car hit me directly. Everyone involved except the driver of my car was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. I was lucky and ended up with only 12 stitches in my head and a lot of bruises.

She was arrested and is completely at fault-- we were not cited at all, nor was the other car who was hit by her.

I got the police report today and also filed the claim with her insurance company. I have not called my insurance company or anything yet.

I'm just wondering what to expect in terms of money, rental car, bills, etc. Should I hire a lawyer immediately? I do have health insurance, but will I get money for the hospital bills?

My car was 1998 VW Cabrio in excellent condition with very low miles (52,000).

Has anyone been throught this and have some sound adivce? My family and I are wondering the best way to proceed

I think my forks have gotten twisted slightly in the clamps, I've been trying to fix it by loosening the lower clamp, holding the wheel, and pushing the handlebars. What is happening is that I can make the bike pull left instead of right, but I'm having trouble aligning it so the wheel is completely straight between the forks.

Is there anyway that I can measure that the forks and clamps are aligned properly? I tried rigging up two pieces of string at the top and bottom of the forks, but the stock suzuki damper was messing up my line of site. Any ideas? Unfortunately I don't have a front stand

It is explained in Bournouli's principle that there is a lower pressure by the curvature which makes the air cooler...causing ice even at high temperatures. Then how does the human body work? Our lungs, nasal cavities every hole in our body have archs and curves..why don't we get icing? Does this have to do with the altitude? So will our bodies burst because of the properties of water (water molecules expands when frozen)?

I know NOTHING about cars! All I know is that I should check the pressure every month, but I bought my car in November 2006 and I haven't since.

Does anyone know where I can go to get this done? I know I can't do it myself. And I don't have any friends nearby who could do it for me. Can I go to some full service gas station where a mechanic could do this for me???

Best answer goes to the person who can tell me a place near Redmond/Bellevue, WA!

I was driving on the freeway the other night and when i was getting off and pulling into a parking lot i heard something pop and then steam came out from under the hood. The car drove for a bit and then died and wouldnt start again until it cooled down. When it started the engine stumbled for a bit but then stayed on. When i poured water into the radiator it all leaked out somewhere between the engine and the radiator. When i turn the car on there is a loud screeching noise. I checked the oil and there was no water in the oil. My car is a 1988 300zx.

Why is it when you try to change the oil on your car, the hardest part is getting the oil filter off? And why is it so difficult, I ask? Because the freaking oil filter wrench is a piece of crap.

And I've tried several different kinds of filter wrenches. But they all leads up to frustration and bruised knuckles. So, why is the most simpliest part of an oil change, ironically has to be the most difficult? I'm sure there has got to be a tool, on the market, that can be used on any typed vechicle, with very little effort of getting the oil filter to turn. If there is, then where can I find it?
