1. Check the cam belt; may have jumped or broke.

2. Check fuse links either at the starter or battery

3. Check for spark @ the plugs

4. Check your engine oil level; if it's over full & smell like gas, then you probably have a fuel pressure problem. Place the accelerator pedal to the floor & try to start. If it starts & runs rich then check the fuel pressure regulator.

Did you check the timing belt? If this car has one, and it's never been changed, now is the time. A worn or skipped one will cause the problems that you describe and should be replaced every 60,000 miles at least. Hope this helps.

a timing belt isnt somehting you may replace your self. Its an quite complicated activity. You dont purely slap it on and flow. reckoning on if the motor is an interferance motor or not, you will have destroyed your engine. If its not, then you fairly could get fortunate and only ought to get a sparkling timing belt/chain placed on. if its an interference motor, probability is you need to look into getting a sparkling vehicle/motor.

It could be several things really...the fuel filter may be plugged, the fuel pump may be going bad (usually they just quit pumping), the fuel pressure regulator may have a fault, or it could be something sinister, like a timing chain...

Also, it might be something simple, as in broken vacuum hose somewhere...
