I was driving on the freeway the other night and when i was getting off and pulling into a parking lot i heard something pop and then steam came out from under the hood. The car drove for a bit and then died and wouldnt start again until it cooled down. When it started the engine stumbled for a bit but then stayed on. When i poured water into the radiator it all leaked out somewhere between the engine and the radiator. When i turn the car on there is a loud screeching noise. I checked the oil and there was no water in the oil. My car is a 1988 300zx.

Your radiator has a leak. Sounds like you need a new one and fast. Take to mechanic as soon as possible... otherwise you won't be able to go to far without having to refill water level every few blocks or so.

Hole in the radiator most likely. You're going to want to replace it and it's not exactly cheap but it's not overly expensive either. If you know someone who can install engine parts, I would get a friend to put in a new radiator. It's cheaper that way.

Either the water pump went out or the belt for the water pump went out.

sounds like your waterpump went out. Where you describe it leaking is where the pump is. You must get that replaced asap.
