I have an 1970's corvette with a 540 BBC with over 700 hp. I want to put a 6L80 transmission in it but I need one that's been built stronger than stock. Are any shop modifying these transmissions yet?

I have the SOHC VG30e engine,with new water pump,timing belt and injectors and Warspeed Y-pipe. I like the old girl but at 150k miles on her and only 165 HP, she is very tame by todays standards. Nissan Quest 3.3 Liter motor sounds attractive swap. Is it worth the work? What is required? How much HP?

the truck makes a constant screeching sound when the engine is running. I was told the serpantine belt needs tightening (among other things). any idea where the bolt to tighten the belt is located? what size wrench/socket might be needed? My neighbors are tired of hearing the squeal so i'd like to minimize the noise when trying to fix it... any help would be great.. thanks.. mike from houston

Okay I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier and Pioneer 6 x 9's. I took out the old inopperable ones. I found out though that I have a bar in the back and I need shallow mounting ones. I still want to install my full ones, but I don't know of any device to put them in correctly. Is there someway to raise them up or what can I do? Pioneer gave me no answer said to get them installed by a pro and they said they did not know how to put them in either.

the reason we ditched was because he took a route that was completley out of the way...it should have been a $45 ride and it ended up being $100 because of the route he took. I would have paid half but only had a credit card so my friend and I took off and went inside my apartment. He came knocking on the door and then came with the police but of course we were scared and didn't answer...it's the next day today and he doesn't have any info. about us. Can he still come after us or what is going to happen if anything?

Hi,
My car tires are worn out, and I never got them rotated (one tire got burst, and I just got two new and put them at the front, so that they will wear out with the old tires at the back). Today (as the weather got dry), I suddenly realized that my car is making a strange humming noise, that increases with increase in speed. I put my car on neutral, and the noise was still there. Could this be bcz of worn out, not rotated tires and will go away as I get the tires changed or no?
I will appreciate any help. It has got me worried.

I've got an '82 Honda Passport that I ride every chance I get. When I'm going about 30 or so and let off the gas, I hear some noise coming from in front of me somewhere, kind of like a loose timing chain rubbing inside the engine. Or maybe plastic rattling. I can't tell. I run it without the plastic leg shield cuz my feet are too big, so the air intake is exposed. Is it just normal noise coming from the air cleaner?
