take the 6 train down town to one of three stops...Bleecker street,, spring street, or canal street....they all intersect lafayette street, and since 10013 is a chinatown zip code, your best bet would be to go to the Canal street station. canal and lafayette is the intersection. 60 should be close by. i hope this has been helpful for you. have a good trip.

60 Lafayette Street is about 3 blocks south of Canal Street (near Franklin St).
It would have been better if you could have given where you are starting from.
If you use the N, Q, or W then get off at Canal St (Broadway), walk one block east to Lafayette St nad then 3 blocks south.
If you use the #6 as mentioned by ratpac7 then get off at Canal St and walk 3 blocks south (the #6 Canal St station is at Lafayette St). The J/M/Z Canal St station also exits at Lafayette St.
None of the other lines that stop at a Canal St station (1,2,3, A, C, E) will do much for you as they are too far west.
Good Luck

The most common, easiest, and cheapest method for getting locomotives on the other end of a train is a run-around track. It's nothing more than a siding. Once the train is pulled up to the station platform, the engine(s) uncouple and continue a short distance to a switch. Once over the switch the engine stops, the switch is thrown, and the engine(s) reverse direction on another track that goes around the station. All the time people are boarding the cars on the platform. The other end of the run-around track switches back in to the track the train pulled in on to begin with. Once the engines are on this track, it/they simply back up to the opposite end of the train, and couple on again, ready to pull in the opposite direction.
