the truck makes a constant screeching sound when the engine is running. I was told the serpantine belt needs tightening (among other things). any idea where the bolt to tighten the belt is located? what size wrench/socket might be needed? My neighbors are tired of hearing the squeal so i'd like to minimize the noise when trying to fix it... any help would be great.. thanks.. mike from houston

It has an auto tensioner on it.
Sounds like you need to replace you belt.
When you have the belt off check all of you pull to see if they turn freely.
Check the tension to see if its week.
All you need is a 3/8 drive ratchet with a long handle or a chuck of pipe for leverage.
ratchet goes into the tensioner.
Auto tec.

I have never heard of tightening a serpentine belt. If you tensoner is bad it could squeal, or if a bearing is going in one of your acc. You may just need to change the belt.

Do yourself a favor and unload this as quick as you can
you'll thank me later....or keep the truck and get a floor standing file cabinet for all your repair receipts.
