Why do cars today with the exception of a few not get as good or more mpg than cars from the 80's? I have a 81 datsun and friends with other small carburated 4 cyl. trucks and the newer small trucks do not sem to get any better gas mileage that one from 25 years ago. Also some of the smaller cars like toyotas and vw to meantion a couple do not get any better gas mileage than some of the celicas, jettas and rabits that are 20 plus years old. Why is this?

The Cherokee I've got my eye on is a 3.7 litre and the Grand a 4 litre.

To anyone who's got either model - are they good cars? Would you recommend them?

Do you have to pay loads of money in car tax?

how much would it cost for a Mercedes C230 paint job, right now the color is Pewter, I'm looking for maybe Black or Red.

Also, would I have to inform the dealer that I bought it from and the insurance? Or am I free to just change the color of it.

I checked the radiator fluid and the resivor is full...You can see circulation when the radiator cap is off... It worked perfectly fine yesterday, but today I can't get more than luke warm air to come out of the vents...Any suggestions? Maybe the thermostat isn't working properly? Your help would be appriciated...

I bought this brand new Mazda from a shady dealership who failed to pay off my trade-in vehicle, and submitted a Retail Installment contract to the alledged lienholder yet they never registered and submitted the registration or title, also they were selling cars "out of trust" from their own bank; So 22+ other people got screwed also and the dealership has no money so no one can sue them for damages. These guys owe about 300,000 of unpaid liens from trade-in vehicles including mine. Now I got an attorney but the bank who at the moment holds no lien on the title since the title doesn't really exist in the DMV or the State is harassing me to make payments as my lawyer is trying to resend the deal and break the contract because the dealer breached it by not paying off my old car which in Florida if a dealer fails to pay a trade-in lien on a car after 30 days it is consider illegal. They even sold my old car without having the title from the lienholder which they failed to pay to.

I have a 51 plate Ford Fiesta Flight and I am sure that the front tyre bulges. I have had someone check it in case I am just being silly but they agree that it does. It doesn't seem flat but I am clueless when it comes to cars. Sometimes there does seem to be some vibration on the drivers side when going at speed but it has just been serviced and nothing was wrong. Any suggestions?

I am not trying to deceive anyone, I am just trying to sell my 1997 Ford Mustang; but the odometer is stuck at 126,444 miles. It cannot be repaired and if I buy a used one, the mileage won't be exact and I was quoted $300 for a new one, which I really don't want to spend if I don't have to. Are there any legal issues with selling the car with a broken odometer, if I disclose when it broke and what the mileage estimate is? Is there some sort of internal mileage counter, that can be checked, so I can find out the true mileage and disclose that?

47,000 miles. Owe $22,850. Excellent condition, great car, but I no longer commute so I don't need the 50+MPG or HOV rights. I am willing to take a little bit of a loss to get the payments gone. Grey exterior, Tan Interior, lots of space for a "commuter" car. Am willing to work something out with someone on the East coast for a pickup, but elsewhere would have to be a "ship the car" situation. Please reply to crp0004@yahoo.com with questions or for pictures.

I drive a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder that is Pearl White, I have begun to hate the color and was wondering how much it would cost to get a pearl black, or something like that.

I'm guessing its cheaper then a normal car since its a convertible.

Thanks!

I was stopped at a light the other day and my car died. Hasnt started since. it has 60, 000 miles on it was running fine up until it took a crap. So far I know i am getting spark, I can hear the fuel pump when i turn the key, its not the starter or the battery. I sprayed some started fluid in the intake duct and it started for a moment then shut off again. So its a fuel problem right? Anyone have any ideas????

My have a Ninja 250 2005model,
I have been riding it just fine.
I didn't ride it over the weekend, because of the chilly weather.
Today,(monday) I start up my bike in neutral. The bike started right up.
HOWEVER, when I was holding the clutch and shifted to first gear. My bike jerked and died.
I tried to roll the bike with the clutch being held, but I can't.
It is obviously still in gear.
I play around for those adjustable nods both on the handle and the one next to the engine.
I don't see anything wrong with it. They are both have a 2-3inchs gap. i think.
What else could cause that?
Give me some ideas.
ALl in puts welcome!
Thanks!

Okay
I have a 2000 Yamaha blaster
I put some new oil in the reservoir. Now it takes forever to start it and when it does and you hit the gas a little it stalls out. If I get it going a little bit I cant go very fast at all before it boggs down and stalls. I took the old spark plug out and put a new NKG one in it. It ran perfect, for about 50ft. Now its doing the same thing.

Is it because the plug is getting fouled out? also i think that I put too rich of oil in it and its fouling the plug out that way but I'm not sure. The air filter is clean and properly sealed if that helps any. Also if I am using to rich of oil, how might I go about draining it to put some better oil in it? (I ordered some Yamalube)

Would a car that ran for 30-50 miles between recharges on electricity only, but could switch instantly to conventional hybrid electric mode when the batteries ran low work for your lifestyle?

Some hybrid vehicles can be converted to have a longer electric-only range and recharge overnight, but so far the major auto-makers don't sell that option from the factory. Would you be willing to pay a premium over the price of a conventonal hybrid vehicle to get a 30-50 mile range of electric-only operation (short commute or day shopping) with an electric-only operating cost cheaper than that of a conventional Internal combustion engine or HEV? If so, what factors might influence you? Electric-only range? Initial-cost? Initial-cost versus fuel-savings? Fuel-savings alone? Eco-friendliness?

PHEV's can be both cost-effective, and more eco-friendly! If we can show that market demand is there, perhaps they will come sooner!

Stupid question, I know. But it's been decades since I've bought a new car, and I just bought one. My former car was a used car and I think I waxed it all of 2 times in the 8 years I owned it. The paint still looks good.

Is waxing really necessary these days, other than to bring out the shine? Also, to bring out the beauty and shine of a car's paint, what would be your recommended product, that hopefully involves minimal work?
