I only want to show the total mileage on the dashboard without the trip odomoter showing all the time

do you have the three buttons info, reset, and whatever the other one says? Hit the info button and go through all the options, I know I can on my truck and my Mercury Sable.

I have the same Mustang only a 2006. No you can not eliminate the trip odometer. You have to have both or none. However in my car you can choose single or dual display. Which means just say you want to know your instantaneous fuel economy. If it is on single it will display only that, but if it is on dual it will display the instantaneous fuel economy and the odometer. I hope I didn't confuse you! But anyway, there is no way to take off the trip odometer while the total is showing. It's both or none. Hope this helps!
