There just mad because they had their doors blown off by a Stang. They're jealous becasue they didn't get one and now they are sick of seeing the Stang's tail lights all the time.

I hate when people say Fords have too many problems. My mother hated Ford as she had a 1968 Mustang and had a several transmission problems (possibly because the previous owner may of not took care of it). Many other Ford-haters say Ford's Pinto had "exploding" gas tanks. I don't even know why people have to hate a Ford. Ford began the american auto movement in the 1890's. Without Ford, Chrysler and General Motors possibly wouldn't be even existing until european cars came to the states in the late-1950s (as Mercedes-Benz is the first with a idea, however they did not come until the 60's along with other german brands). Ford is by far a great manufacturer (as well as Mercury, Lincoln, and all others in the Ford Motor Company). I truly love Fords as I wish to own either the new Ford Mach 1 edition Mustang or Ford's GT40 supercar. There is no reason to even go against Ford Mustang or any Ford models, no matter if it had some minor flaws or none at all. I finally got my mom to understand that Fords are not bad cars (she actually now likes the Explorer), I hope everyone else can finally get the point.

Wow... where to begin...
first - I've had a Ford.... a few of them... and in many cases - it is like what was said above... Fix Or Repair Daily.... the last straw was the power steering pump that ALWAYS sounded like it was about to go out... always grinding... and the dealership saying that it was "normal".....
As for the concept of "jealousy" - as offered by "fordman" about having their "doors blown off"... well, I guess you're probably too young to recall the exceptionally anemic Mustangs from the late 70s and early 80s with a pathetic 2.3 4 cylender and the even worse 3.8 V-6 (and other worthless motors from that era).... yeah, won't be getting beat out by one of those anytime soon....
A lot of people just don't like Fords. period.... A lot of times, Ford has a bad rep that is IN MANY CASES, deserved....
Also, after the 60s and early 70s ended - with the passing of the "high performance" Mustangs, the model lost a lot of the reputation is had for speed, easy to work on and simple mechanicals....
During the late 70s, with the advent of the Mustang II model - which was nothing more than a glorified and overweight Pinto - people stayed away in DROVES... if you ever get a chance to watch an old episode of "Charlie's Angels" - two of the cars are Mustang IIs - the white "Cobra" hatchback driven by Farrah Fawcett's Jill Munroe and then Cheryl Ladd's character later... and Kelly (played by Jaclyn Smith) drove a Mustang II "Ghia" coupe with a landau top and wire wheel covers.... Only Sabrina (Kate Jackson) actually drove a Pinto....
In the 80s, the Mustang suffered further indignities at the hands of Ford - being based upon the "fox" platform - which was from the Ford Fairmont... a rather unexceptional family sedan....
Even into the recent generations of the Mustang, you can still find remnants of the original "fox" platform - right down to the 4 lug rims on a high performance car....
Most people abhor the current generations of Mustang... they're not very well styled and not well engineered.... they're rough, rude and crude.... Ford has not put the money into this "cash cow" that they should have - instead, they spent tons of money on the HUGE SUVs that are seemingly more popular...
The Mustang isn't a terribly bad car.... but it's not a terribly good car, either....
Again, though, most of the reasons that people don't like Fords is from bad experience with a Ford...

Ever since the huge recall on Ford with the cruise drive burning, theres been massive hating on all Ford vehicles. I have a 2002 Ford Mustang six cylinder i bought 3 years ago for 7500 bucks, 85000 miles on it and now has 110,000 miles on it. Before i bought it it's been in two wrecks due to Chevy vehicles running into the back of it. The first 3 months i've had it modified it with a dual h-pipe, with a K&N air intake filter. I have not had one repair needed for it. It's the fact that idiots dont go and get oil changes when needed, and tune ups when needed that have to get repairs dobne to their car. The people that hate on Ford are people who cant take care of their vehicles. I admit that if you compare a chevy and a ford, two vehicles not taken care of, the chevy will last longer but put both of them in good care, the ford whoops the chevys butt.

the early stangs had appeal and performance. the newer you get the cheaper they are built. Ford cars don't hold there resale almost as bad as Chrysler and performance wise they are at the bottom of the field. Ford trucks are in a completely different class, the Diesel and the new F-150 have vastly improved and are better than most in various duties such as pulling and durability. For the most part Ford cars have not changed much and are not that appealing. When you open and shut the door of your 2000 Mustang you can feel how cheaply it was made compared to similar vehicles, and it will not ride as smooth either.

I have never had a Mustang, although I think I would like one, specially a convertible. I have one friend who has one who loves it and have another friend who just sold his who got to where he hated his. He said there was too much repair needed and the trade in value sucked...
Guess it is just personal opinion and experience.

I love my Mustang. I guess most people had a bad experience either owing an old one or being smoked by one. Enjoy your Mustang and ride her every chance you get too.....

theyre overrated. Thats why. people not that familiar with cars always are all "ZOMG MUZTANG Y0!" and they sell like mad, despite being mediocre at best cars.
theyre not that fast, they have a suspention and interior that was designed by a bunch of 5 year olds, the brakes are pathetic, they completely lack feel, are pretty boring to drive, and are just about the least refined "sports car" that has ever existed.
They tend to have a decent amount of power, which looks great on paper, yet they underperform terribly on all real sportcar challenges (like laptimes). The brakes cook on a track, the suspension is horribly tuned (theyre super nose heavy and just understeer everywhere), and the live axle setup in general is just crap.
try to find me a magazine where theyve been given a 5 star rating ever in its 40 year history. i have yet to see one, even the GT500.
not having problems with your car and having a great car are two very very different things. Old british cars were unreliable as hell, but still considered amazing cars because they were so fun to drive and such.
ive never owned a mustang, but ive driven more than my fair share, and have yet to be impressed.
