I'm talking about an INDIVIDUAL car, not just what fueleconomy.org's website says about that particular model. I'm trying to determine if the changes I've made to the vehicle have improved the gas mileage any.

The handbrake on my P-reg Renault clio is not working very well. It is "just" about holding, but the level has to be almost vertical. Does anyone know how I can adjust this? The manual says it has to be taken to a garage, but I wonder whether this is just so that they're not responsible should I do anything wrong.

don't want to spend a fortune at a garage if its something I can do myself

I go to start the van up early in the morning so it can warm up, it
starts but when I go to take the key out of the ignition it won't come out unless I cut the van off. I tried shifting to other gears and turning the steering wheel but it wouldn't budge.

It started this morning. I suspect it is from hitting a pothole a few weeks ago and throwing the alignment off significantly. Does this sound like a plausible theory? After riding the subways for years, my knowledge of cars is miniscule. I'm the perfect bait for one of those 20/20 episodes where they get the mechanics to rip a correspondent off. I drive a 2001 Nissan Sentra. What say you?

hey ive just put a deposit on a new vehicle and am trading in my old one as part exchange. theyve valued my old one and asked if i had full service history to which i said yes as ive always had it serviced regularly etc. Your going to think im an idiot but ive only ever owned one vehicle previously from new so i didnt appreciate that you were supposed to have your booked stamped for every service you had and no one at the dealership has every mentioned this!! cars 7 years old only done 50,000 miles and i have copies of the receipts for the each years service and they havent exactly given me top wack trade in so i presume if i take these along it will be ok? just a bit concerned but i presume if it was a major valuation factor theyd have asked to see the log book. didnt know if i should mention it lol feel a prat now but as i say i didnt know!!

I know the question sounds a little naive. But in my case my engine broke, and yes the mechanic told me that there was no water in the radiator, BUT the heat indicator never signaled that the engine was hot.

I just want to make sure that my engine collapsed because I bought a used engine? Or, because there was no water in the radiator? And I don't remember ever putting any water to the radiator because it never indicated overheating.

I have to decide if I get a re-built engine or used like before. Nevertheless from now on, I'll make sure I put water every two weeks if necessary.

I appreciate your help and expertise in the subject.
