I have a 1995 Buick Lesabre and it's making a rattling noise when driving now, also started smoking (white smoke) last night. Neither the check engine light or the thermostat light are coming on though. Any clue on what it could be?

Did anyone read of the woman in the £96k Merc who drove into a flooded river ford, ignoring road signs that the road was unsuitable for cars?
Or how about the woman who turned left onto a railway line because the satnav told her to?
Should insurance companies refuse to pay for this sort of stupidity?
What do you think?

My car uses fuel injector system. I ran out of gas recently. I then put gas in my tank but the car still would not start. I tried to get a jump start from another car, but that did not work. The mechanic is now telling me that i need a new motor. I would love for someone to please explain what went on with my car, and to tell me if it is actually posibble that i might need a new motor

I wondered what the law says about how long a garage must guarantee the repair work that they have carried out on a vehicle. For example, if a timing belt and tensioner was replaced but the pulleys weren't and some time afterwards the pulleys failed, wouldn't that be the mechanics fault?

when a car drives normally, the rubber on the tyres slowly but surely wares down. This is visible after long periods of time, that is why you need to change your tyres. Where does all this rubber go, i am not talking about skidding as that is visible. if it just wares off and gets left in the road as i am sure some will say, why cant you see piles of it?

Hello all,
I have a 90,BMW 525i.I live in bahrain, where there is no issues on emissions and like to remove the clogged catalystic convertor.I got opinions from two mechanics(exhaust mechanics). One says we can replace the C.Convertor by two plain pipes. The other says to replace the C.Convertor by a muffler which will protect the other two mufflers in the exhaust system.
I like my car to be silent while running.Your advices are highly apprecaited.
