when a car drives normally, the rubber on the tyres slowly but surely wares down. This is visible after long periods of time, that is why you need to change your tyres. Where does all this rubber go, i am not talking about skidding as that is visible. if it just wares off and gets left in the road as i am sure some will say, why cant you see piles of it?

It just becomes additional dust and mingles with the dirt along the road.

On race tracks, you can actually SEE bits of tire rubber on the edges of the track, as it comes off a lot faster, and builds up quickly.

The rubber ends up on the road as dust which along with any oil and other dirt make roads very slippery after a long dry spell.

If you drive normally, your tires should last you a few years. The average car drives 10,000miles a year. So, if you spread your tire out over 30,000miles, your not going to see it.
